I went in search of poly fill to refill carts but it was all flame-......ant. So I went to pet store looking for the filter floss, no dice. I couldn't remember if it was foam or sponge used so I got 1 small Fluval sponge and a packed of bonded filter pad. For Marineland. I am afraid to do anything for fear I'll ruin something. HELP!

I know from experience the 'bonded filter pad'/blue foam from Marineland works well. It's my main filler material. And I know from other posts that the fluval sponge also works for others. Both are useable. I'd suggest trying a 'blue foam plug' where you cut the foam a bit oversized on both the length and the width - that way the sponge acts as a 'spring' against the sides of the cart and won't fall down.

The 'plug' part is where you only use about 3/8" in depth. With the marineland foam - what I do is cut off the lighter, more 'stringy' bottom part. AND keep the top of the foam on top - the top is like 'cauterized' and not string so it doesn't get hooked on the metal mesh of the atty bridge. Let the Bridge itself determine the 'depth' where the foam should be. Another advantage of this material is that unlike some plugs, you don't have to remove it to fill. It fills well but still doesn't leak. I also add a straw mod:

Suggest using a Johnson & Johnson safety swab plastic shaft for the 'straw'. So you have 3/8" plug and the rest of the cart is all ejuice. Lasts me between 30 and 45minutes before refill.
