Filling the z-atty pro without the "volcano" effect?

Hi all,
I can't seem to figure out how to fill the Zap without the liquid coming up through the wick like a volcano. I have tried holding the syring as close to the side as possible to allow some air to escape and going slow....but no joy. What am I missing here?

slow down, tilt, dont fill fully, fill about 3/4. If u try to go 100% itll explode.

Push the plunger more quickly. If you take too long to fill, it will spill out.
