I made a number of very ugly ?, sure where not coils, slowed down and was successful, tried 2 different diameters and decided to use the 2mm Rod, 8 wraps, 28g kanthal, 1.26 ohms, next time 7 wraps about 1.1 ohms, my sweet spot on the RM2.

Can someone tell me what would be the benifit of using the 2.5mm rod over the 2mm? Is it I can use more cotton so I squonk less?

Edit: almost forgot, is there a way I can keep my wire on the spool without having to us that little hole on the spool? If so where do I find such a wonderful invention?
My wire is getting to many kinks!!!

I use a wide rubber band too but I like the idea of the silly Puddy. (Geez, I love this forum!).

I'm interested in hearing more answers on the size of coil in relation to number of squonks. I've also wondered. For a long time I've been sticking with the 2.5 and I chock it full of cello cotton (short tails) for my happy place. The larger ones like 2.5 don't lend themselves well (for me) to KGD. Speaking of KGD/Cello. My bag of cello is getting low. If you love KGD, I'm happy to make a switch. Just PM me....
Now back to our regularily scheduled program for Reo learning....

I use 2.5 - 3.0 mm ID coils in lower ohm builds. My sense is that it allows for more juice supply via the larger wicks, which a .3ohm build really wants.

When I build a single coil tootle puffing flavour build (in and around an ohm), 2mm is more than adequate.

The 1/16" coils just don't seem to keep up as well (for my vaping style, at least).

KDG in all builds. It works, it's very easy to work with, I have a lifetime supply for cheap, never been susceptible to dry hits or scorching (I err on the side of squonking before it's needed and my hits are not real lung burners). I find that when it's time to replace the wicks, it's pretty much time for a dry burn anyway.
