I have only wound about a dozen coils with the v3 I got a couple weeks ago. And only two were done using the cm as it's intended.
I been hanging a pair of ginormous vice grips off the end of the wire and turning the rod end rather than the cap. Way better results regardless of wire size or if twisted. Only problem is that the screw will back out so have to keep it tight or the wire will catch.
