I recently discovered the Innokin SVD on YouTube. Did some researching and found the SVD 2.0. Read some really good reviews on it then found one for sale over at MVB for $42. Decided to buy it, 2 LG HG2's, a Nitecore D2 charger and an Aspire K3 tank with 1.8 coils. Really excited for it to arrive.

In the mean time, I'm going to be looking for another regulated mod so I can have a backup. Nothing too fancy. Don't need anything too powerful just yet. Might dip my toes in the subohm waters in the future but not yet. So if anyone knows of any good mods that run around 20W or so for a good price let me know.

The cool fire iv runs up to 40 watt but will run 20 water no problem. It's a great lil mod

That one pops up in searches quite often. I'm not experienced by any means but so far I do enjoy what Innokin products I've used.

The top two I'm looking at now are the Cool Fire IV and the iStick 30W. Just not familiar with many other brands so I'm trying to collect some opinions.

You might also want to look at the Ileaf PICO nice little box mod, 70 watts, will work with the same batteries as your SVD, also has temperature control if you want to get into that in the future. Works well at lower wattage, I am running mine at 7 watts with a Protank 2 as I type this.

Actually I think I've decided that when I am finally ready to try subohm vaping, that's what I'm going to get. I know you can get the PICO with a Melo III for a great price. I just figured since it's a 70W mod I'd wait until I was ready to use a good portion of those watts before I bought it.

I've owned the SVD 1.0 First Gen, SVD 1.0 Second Gen with the funky, mushy buttons when I needed to replace my old taxed SVD. Also have the SVD 2.0 in silver, gets a lot of use at home, love the re-vamped DNA20 chip in it over my older Hana DNA20 back in the day, and with those HG2's as well I get about 2days on a charge on them at about 8 to 10watts so great device if a bit heavy due to all the stainless steel. Looking for a cheaper, pocket friendly mod that will expand into sub-ohm with you I'd look at the Eleaf iStick40watt TC, it will handle most of what you will expand into as well as entry with TC support if you go that route later on. After that I could also suggest the Sigelei Mini 30watt, another solid unit with replaceble batteries, will handle down to about 0.5ohm for sub-ohm as well.

Welcome to ecf. Glad to have you here.
Pico's are a great little mod for out and about. Fits in your pocket and is very versatile. Just because a mod can do 70w does not mean you have to. I have several mods that do that and more. It really depends on the topper you have. The melo III's are a good top filling tank, so easy to use. I prefer the .03ohm coil that comes with it and can vape it at 16w or so for a great vape. I guess I am what is referred to as a mouth to lung hitter(not subohm) and I think you would really enjoy it. The ecf coils also come in .05 ohms also. I think you get one of each when you buy the pico kit.
Just my 2 pennies.
Enjoy your ride, vaping is so much better(and fun) than smoking ever was.
:)
