Hey guys, I am officially on my way to being smoke free. The stuff i ordered came in today so i have been vaping all day. The problem is that i ordered my ejuice too strong. I figured since i was a pack a day smoker that i needed to get a strong nic ejuice, so i ordered 24mg juice. When i vape it, all i get out of it is an uncomfortable burning pain in my throat. At first i thought i was doing something wrong but im thinking it is the juice having too much nic. Am i right? If so, how do i fix this. Im guessing i can dilute it but i dont have any supplies to do it. Can i buy PG or VG from a grocery store like walmart? I know ppl are always shooting for throat hit but this is rediculous, almost to the point of not wanting to vape. What do u guys think?

BTW if you guys were wondering what i ordered~~~

1-Vamo VV/VW mod
1- AGA-T+ RBA
1- pyrex tank for aga-t
1- Phoenix dripping rba
1- vision vivi nova
1- ego jumbo case
2- SS drip tips
1- blue tank for nova
1- blue STV tank for nova
2- 18350 batts
2- 18650 batts
1- Batt charger
100 ft 32awg Kanthal
7ft 28awg Kanthal
10ft 2mm silica rope
12"x12" 400 ss mesh
1- r2d2 wrap from jwraps
4-15ml bottle of 24mg  ejuice
syringes/blunt needles/ and other various tools for building the atties

*i kinda got excited n went crazy on my first setup*

yea you can get vg at any healthfood store or walmart to cut it down but it will also cut the flavor, i have done that on purpose in the past i would order 24mg plus extra flavor and double my juice when cutting with vg i also add stevia if its not sweet enough and never had a problem with the flavor getting too weak

This could be a number of things. Have you ever vaped before? If this is your absolute first day, it may be because your body is still getting used to it.

It could be the nic, but I've noticed over the past week, that nic level has minor effect on this. For the first few days it took me a little while to get used to the deep inhales, which would both burn and dry out my throat. Just keep something to drink near by.

if it's an option for you, try and see if there's a local shop you can get some juice at. Try 18 and see if it's doing the same thing. You can try 12 as well. I've been to 2 local shops that let you sample the flavors. In one shop the samples are nic free. The other, the samples are 12mg.

If that's not an option, try working with it slowly and see if you can get used to that feeling. Drink plenty of water/fluids to keep your throat wet. Try drinking immediately before you take a drag.

Well, you certainly are jumping in feet first!

Could be the nic but it could be that you are sensative to the PG. What ratio pv/vg is your juice?

Also, if you have been vaping real heavy all day, well, that in of itself could be the problem. I know I went pretty over board with the 24mg the first couple of days. I knew I needed to step down to 18mg because I was getting dizzy, light headed, etc not because of my throat. And, I use to roll my own non filters.

If you try to lower the Nic. level with plain pg/vg you will also dilute the flavor. Your best bet would be to get an equal amount of identical juice in a lower nic level and mixing them. So, if I'm doing the math right, you would mix 15ml of 24MG/ML with 15ml of 12 mg/ml to get 30 ml of 18 mg/ml juice.

Stay firm against the stinkys and you will be analog free in no time. I have had 5 ciggs in the last 11 days, the last four days cigg free!

Make sure the glycerine you're buying USP (pharma grade). :) It also needs to be diluted with distilled water to make it less viscous. Remember that adding pure VG will dilute the flavor also. In the future, I recommend you get some ejuice (same flavor) in either 0 nic or 4 or 6 mg/ml; this way, you'll always be able to adjust nicotine lever without sacrificing flavor. PG can be ordered online from many juice providers--it's always good to have some on hand.

I did this same exact thing. I was going through a PAD of cowboy killers. 24mg was way to much for me to mess with and couldn't even inhale it without hacking up a lung. What i did was go to walmart and grab this to dilute it. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Humco-Skin-Protectant-Glycerin-Usp-6-oz/10417582

I also got some hard candies that I would eat while vaping so that the diluted flavor would not bother me as much. Mixing it half and half pretty much killed the flavor of the juice. I then moved down to 18mg which was good most of the time but still got a little dizziness from time to time. I am now ordering 12mg which seems to work best for me now.

Thanks everyone for the tips. To answer a few questions... I dont have a vape shop near me to try diff levels of nic out unfortunately, and the juice im using right now is 70/30 pg/vg from ecblends. I read on the label and in the ingredients it said there was ethyl alcohol too. I dont know if they use that in every mix but ive read that it increases the TH also, so that might be messing with me too. I dont really want to lose the flavor but i have to do something. I kinda went overboard on everything so ordering more juice isnt an option right now. Hopefully it is just me not being used to it. I dont really know what to do, lol. Ill try diluting it just a little tommarrow i guess.

I'd make a run to Wal-Mart and grab some of the humco glycerin and try a drop off that and a drop off your juice on your atty to see if that helps out not. if not you will have vg to mix with later siren the road. you could also try letting it steep to have the alcohol evaporate some but that would mean not using it while it's stepping. at my Wal-Mart it was 4.03 for a bottle if the humco glycerin. it's usp ( pharmaceutical grade) and was un the skin protectant aisle. near the bandages and rubbing alcohol.

May also want to lower the PG in the mix next time. PG increases TH.When I started I would get 80%pg/20%vg or 70%pg/30%vg and it was bugging my throat. I then changed to 50/50 and no issues now.

Lower your voltage / wattage setting. You state that you are fairly new - if so - if you are using the genesis - you are probably hot spotting the coil as well. Put in a dry mesh wick and fire it to verify that ALL the coils are even.

Also make sure that your Vamo is in N02 mode, not N01 mode. Big difference between the two modes and how they hit.

Unfortunately since you've blown your vape budget, you may have to suffer loss of flavor by adding some VG.
Suggestions for the next time you order liquid. Buy different mg levels to see what works for you. You already know that 24 is probably too strong. Buy sample sizes until you get it figured out. Buy from different vendors until you find the ones you like the most. Stock up a bit, not too much though because your tastes may change.

To get you through until you can get the throat hit issue corrected, pull the vapor into your mouth and hold for a bit. Exhale through the nose. You will get plenty of nic since it is absorbed more readily through the soft tissues. It may sting a bit, nic will do that. Or just hold the vapor in your mouth then release by blowing it out. You can just inhale a tiny amount for that lung hit. Another way, pull vapor into your mouth, hold for a bit, exhale through both mouth and nose at the same time.

Play around with different vaping techniques.

Samples are your friend until you find what works for you.

Wow I think there is a reason new vapers start out with trash devices and work there way up. Also not smoking does goofy things whether you are vaping or not. Sore throat, feeling sick after a few days ect. Seems to be par for the course as your body gets rid of the yucky stuff. The only thing I notice personally with too high nic is the peppery taste on my tongue. Different juices and carriers like the part you put the juice in do give you a different throat feel, I noticed menthol honey and chocolate juices feel more like the real deal than say peach does. I too started with 24 and quickly stepped down to 18 then back then down then to 12 then 14 then 12 . others gave good advice on how to cut the nic level but the easy way is to buy more of the same in a lower nic level and mix those together so you don't lose anything but the nic. Also you could have a issue with the pg content some people do... How do you feel around fog machines?
