Welcome to the forum and vaping, hopefully the above recommendations solve your sore throat problem.
Nice first order, can see why you're in a position where you don't want to order more for a while! lol.

But you may want to consider getting a back up for the vamo at your earliest possible convenience,
if it was to fall out of your hand and smash on the floor you might be left without a device to vape with.
I purchased a couple ego batteries as back-up for my Provari a few weeks into vaping. I never really have needed
them but they're nice to have laying around with different flavours on them for variety. They'll do in a pinch if the unspeakable happens.

To reiterate what some others have said try a lower voltage/wattage and take larger mouth inhales.
The Chinese juice can be quite harsh, I personally don't/can't vape it at all.

Oh and BTW. you did not make a mistake at all imo. there is always a little trial and error in the beginning
it comes with the territory. It'd been a mistake if you did what I did and ordered 4-30ml bottles of different tobacco juices
right in the beginning for over a hundred dollars, THAT'S a mistake!

You are doin' pretty good imo. Congrats on switching to vaping and ditching the stinkies!:vapor::vapor:

I don't know if I missed a post or not, but it would be helpful to know what OHM head are you using, and at what voltage/wattage?
I also disagree with diluting your juice with VG. Get some of the same juice, but at 12 mg, or 18 mg strength and mix it with your 24 mg juice. That way, you won't cut the flavor.

When ! first started vaping, it seemed harsh. I think many people experience this. Vaping is a bit different from smoking cigarettes, and there is a small learning curve.

First off -- don't hit so hard! When I first started I was hitting my ecig like I would an analog and thought my head was going to come off!! Eased back on the strength of the hit I was taking and it solved the prob for me -- and, yes, I also vape at 24mg; sometimes 36mg... I do like my nic... :)

The dilution is a good idea... Another idea, since it looks from your list of goodies that you have, indeed, jumped in feet-first look into getting into DIY on your juice too... That way you can control everything about it from the strength of the flavor to the nic level... EcigExpress | Electronic Cigarettes, e-Liquid and DIY Flavorings & E-Liquid VZ USA | VZ USA E-Juice | Ecig Juice - E Cig : Best Ejuice | Joye eGo & eGo-T | Boge Leo | Cartomizers | E-Liquid | Electronic Cigarettes are both excellent DIY sources for both PG/VG (with or without nic) and flavorings... As far as hardware you don't really need all that much -- a few syringes and some bottles mostly... That will all depend on how "mad scientist" you want to get...

Lower your voltage / wattage setting. You state that you are fairly new - if so - if you are using the genesis - you are probably hot spotting the coil as well. Put in a dry mesh wick and fire it to verify that ALL the coils are even.

I know I am new to rebuildables but I've researched for weeks before I ordered it n found just about every way to wrap a coil. Then de decided the easiest way to do it. I rolled the coil and there was no hot spots and all glowed evenly except the bottom coil that connected on the ground wouldn't light at low volts. I picked it and gradually stepped up the volts n got it working but I thought I was doing something wrong because of this problem so I switched to the vivi nova but still no dice

Sounds to me like you might be doing what's refered to as a direct inhale, which is inhaling directly to the lungs. This does'nt work very well with vaping, causes the burning like your experiencing. Try taking the vapor into your mouth first, then inhaling it into your lungs.
Ive also tried that because that is how i smoke cigs so ive tried both ways. I even tried holding it in my mouth for a little longer then inhaling. I might just not be used to the throat hit.

May also want to lower the PG in the mix next time. PG increases TH.When I started I would get 80%pg/20%vg or 70%pg/30%vg and it was bugging my throat. I then changed to 50/50 and no issues now.

thats a good point that i overlooked... i did order one of my juices in 50/50 that i havent tried yet because i was unsure what mix to get so i hope that helps. I ordered 70/30 because thats what the majority of ppl get so IDK. Thx for the tip.

Thx for the words of encouragement, I was bummed from all the research i did n still had an unexpected problem but the trial and error makes it fun. Also thats a great idea about a backup that i have been thinking too, since i notice that most ppl buy double of everything. My wife was planning on buying me a mod for fathers day n I was thinking about getting the k100 or k101 so i can experiment with mech mods too. Plus mechs seem to be more sturdy and reliable (plus small and look cool). My dream would be to get a chi you but good luck to me affording that, especially with the resale value like its made of unicorn horn.

My vamo is reading 2.6 ohms, its the 2.4 ohm head on the vision vivi nova. I have been experimenting from 5 watts to 8.0 watts and 3.7 volts to 4.7 volts. Im leaning more towards watts right now

I think that was my problem!!! I was taking full drags on the pv not being used to the throat hit( mouth and lung). My plans are to try DIY to be able to experiment with what i like as far as ejuice goes. Plus the ammount you can make for the price is nice, if i can figure out a flavor i can use as an all day vape.

Around 7 to 7.5 watts seems good for me on a 2.4Ω head. Of course, it partly depends on the type of juice, and personal preference.

Yea its not a big deal i kinda just wanted to share my experience so any other new vapors can have the heads up. Im getting used to it but it would of helped of i had a vape shop near me to sample different things. It would of saved me a little money but oh well. The closest thing to me is mt baker vapor ( an hour away) but they say on the site that they are an online vendor only.
