Part of the problem with getting rid of analogs is breaking the addiction to all the ancillary chemicals that are in them. In my case, my first PV came in the mail, I finished my pack, and never bought another one. But, that sounds much easier than it was. Even with vaping constantly for the first couple of days at 24mg I was having some obvious symptoms of withdrawal. So, I drank tons of liquids (in an effort to flush the chemical addictions out of my system) while simultaneously vaping. Specifically, cranberry juice (not cocktail) is supposed to help do this quicker. After about 3 days, I no longer had withdrawal symptoms and have been vaping every since. Sorry if that is kind of a bleak outlook, but that is my personal experience.

Good Luck!

hi dj9928..if U got the time try reading through the testimonials from the old-timers,started by Bluesman..most have smoked analogs from 30+years to 50+..i dont know what stage U being smoking 1pad or more and how long into the yrs U smoke..i myself for over 30 yrs on analogs and only a full year into vaping..just wish i knew about e-cig when it 1st came out..it was hard at 1st to strictly vaping but with the support i was getting from members and veterans in this forum..i am now happily into vaping..no expense spare to get my gadgets and plenty of spares..backup with more backups..as truly vaping has help me give up on analogs..i hope U can and eventually succumb to vaping only..regards mafig ps the link,if U can, peruse through http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...scussion/269341-older-people-55-years-up.html

I'm still on the good side of things. Made it a whole week yesterday. It was wonderful spending World Vaping Day as a vaper yesterday! :)

Have been keeping good thoughts for dj9928. Every cigarette you avoid is a victory, and we all do this in our own time and in our own way. Hope things are getting easier. I know I still have my moments but that is to be expected and I deal with them one at a time.

I really believe that those ancillary chemicals are a great deal of the problem and there are many that we are not aware of that we are/were addicted to that we don't know about. For me, weaning myself off analogs gradually was the only way I could get to vaping exclusively.

I am still vaping constantly at 24 mg and keeping my liquid intake up. Haven't tried cranberry juice but have been drinking plenty of water.

That is quite the collection mafig. I just treated myself to a new kit, my Ego 650 mah was 2 years old from my first unsuccessful attempt and not performing up to par. This new one I got is the 900 mah version and it is a vast improvement. Also treated myself to new atomizers, they in themselves can make a world of difference. I always have a fully charged spare battery within reach and carry an extra atomizer with me where ever I go. Also have found been keeping/ buying a variety of liquid flavors in stock helps.

Hope dj9928 checks in here and lets us know how it is going. Thanks to everyone for their good wishes and support. It means a lot and helps so much. :)

Hey Bluebelle, that's fantastic news :) I'm still on the good side of things, haven't really had any desire either for an analog, Today is Saturday which means a few beers tonight so that will be a test but I drank and vaped before and its better vaping than smoking when drinking as I don't have to go outside like I do when I want a smoke.
