1. If you're only smoking one in the morning...... you've eliminated a hell of a lot of cigs. Take that as a victory.
2. When you smoke a cigarette, your lungs are pulling in the nicotine at a much faster rate than through vaper. It's been estimated that nicotine absorption rate from an e-cig is about 30% that of a cigarette.. so instead of the 5-6 minute cig, vape for 15-20.
3. You might want a higher nic juice for that first hit in the morning.

If all else fails.... have the morning cig. Then go back to vaping. It took me about 3-4 weeks of vaping and smoking some until I finally realized the cig wasn't anything special and it tasted like ..... (pun intended)

Stop beating yourself up and just stick with it. If you really want it, you'll get there.

I used to be in the same boat as you! All my coworkers used to smoke and it was ritual for us to smoke together. I think the key is finding a good ejuice, pv unit and nicotine level. I bought my coworker one for his bday and everyone else who smoked ended up using ecigs. It helps that we can vape where we normally coudn't smoke. Now we see who gets the latest and greatest products!

Get some higher nic in a nice tobacco flavor... I vape 12mg bubble gum most of the time but for those cravings I keep a jazz cartopipe filled with a nice 18mg RY4. Works every time. (on a side note, if when you say a "mega battery" you are using a stick style 510 then you also need more power my friend, an eGo at the very least)

Here is an excerpt from my blog "The Vaper's Handbook". I hope it helps you succeed in your quest.

" In most cases I believe the reason for this is one of two things: your PV/atomizer setup or your juice strength. I have heard of many cases of people who WANTED to smoke desperately who also vaped and they all failed to keep smoking. For example, one guy had 10 cartons left in the fridge and was determined to smoke them. He failed. IIRC after a year he still had a couple packs left. It is for this reason that I believe that wanting to smoke doesn't seem to have an impact on the eventual success. As for nicotine strength please refer to my previous answer for question 10 above. If you haven't tried my previous recommendations for what is the best setup at this time then I would start there as well. The other bit of advice I can give you is that you want to start a little higher than you'd think with nicotine concentration of your juice because you want to know that you're getting enough of what you need, enough to quit smoking altogether. I don't ever recommend that you get above 24mg nicotine (2.4%) in your juice unless you smoked more than 2 packs a day. Above that level the juice is so powerful in the throat hit that it will likely be unvapeable to most people. Remember that 24mg when you need 32mg just means you'll have to vape more often to get to the level your body requires, it doesn't mean that 24mg will be useless. I also recommend that when you first start vaping, and you get your setup in the mail, to charge it up as per the instructions that come with it and then begin vaping the next day. No smoking, only vaping. I think that the people who often have the most trouble quitting also started vaping after they had already smoked for the day. Not only can this add to your chances of failure, it can lead to nicotine poisoning (usually a headache, dizziness, or nausea that passes in a short time) if you overdo it. Should that happen to you the best treatment for mild overdose is to lay down and drink a glass of water. About 15-20 minutes later you'll be good to go. The way that nicotine is absorbed with smoking vs. vaping is different. Smoking causes the nicotine to pass the blood-brain barrier almost instantly, while nicotine that is vaped is medical grade and it takes several minutes to have effect. Know this when you start vaping. It's all about keeping your nicotine levels at the right concentration in your blood, it's not an instant fix like a cigarette. "

first of all i think you really have to be mentally prepared to quit. one trick i do though that really helps me alot is i vape 0mg all day long, litteraly i do it all day for the habbit and on my breaks at work or when ever i need a hit ill vape 12mg so i get a head rush. it actually works really well because when i vape the 12mg after vaping 0mg all day i get an intense head rush. try it out! good luck, i hope you commit to the lifestyle change!

I have the same issues with my friends that I have tried to "turn" away from cigarettes. I have managed to succesfully turn two into vaping completely and kick the habit, while others have either "fallen off" and gotten back to smoking analogs or are partially vaping and smoking analogs.

From the information I have gathered from them, it seems to be mostly mental. One told that "it just wasnt the same when he is out drinking" or having a BBQ, he "needs" to have a real cig. While some had no trouble and almost instantenously quit analogs the moment they discovered e-cigs (like me).

Like the above posters above me, your going to have to possibly upgrade your hardware and e-liquid to find the fit for you to help you quit completely. And lastly, some commitment and open mind on your part, to completely break the habit. Luckily for me, my habit was smoking while driving and while at a computer desk, so vaping actually encouraged those habits as I dont have to roll down windows or walk out the house to smoke (I can vape at my computer now). Best of luck to you !!! and whenever you are looking for support and encouragement I am sure you will find it here in this forum.

I used them at first just to cut back. I went from about twenty-five ciggs a day to about two packs a week. Then about a month ago I went to just three a day. One on the way to and from work and one at lunch. Then after a week of that I totally cut them out. Three weeks smoke free now and I'm having now problems. You don't have to quit them cold turkey, it's a process.

I still have this problem from time to time. Especially after eating, after "adult" activities, and my morning drive to work. My driving time is probably the worst. I stopped beating myself up and allowed myself to have a cigarette when the craving is so bad that I am angry. Usually after lighting it I remember how bad they really do taste and put it out before I get half way through. Its a constant struggle, and without the PV I would be much worse off, but I still have an occasional stink stick when the desperate need hits, those desperate needs are less and less everyday though.

I think you first need to decide if you truly want to give up cigs. I am having a hard time as well. I was a pack a day smoker. The day my lava tube came in I immediately went from 20 cigs a day to 1 cig in the morning. I am having a hard time getting past the mental part of having a cig first thing in the morning. Part of my issue is juice. I dislike fruit flavored juices and tobacco flavors and haven't found something that i am not sick of by the end of the day. This is my second attempt with ecigs. Having a VV has made it much easier. Over the last three years I have only had m401/402 ecigs and they just plain didn't work well enough for me. Good luck, hang in there.

I still smoke roll ups, not as many though.. I have a drink in the evenings and don't smoke one ciggy, I can have a meal and I won't smoke a ciggy. However during the day I go between roll ups and vapor. The point here is, I didn't start vaping with the intention of quitting baccy, If I wanted to go that route I would have gone to the doctors. I started vaping to cut down on baccy, it worked. So don't beat yourself up about it, It's hard to stop, full stop, I hope to very gradually get off roll ups but I know it aint easy and I stay cool about it. I have cut down and that's great because I couldn't have done that without vaping, my first goal is now complete. One step at a time, slow and easy...

Keep trying. It is worth it. Could be the amount of nicotine in the mix that you crave or could be the throat hit or even the amount of vapor. I don't miss the tobacco flavor anymore. When I quit smoking three weeks ago, the first couple of days there were a few moments when I felt like I needed a cigarette so I switched from Blu to an ego in hopes of more satisfaction... And It definitely gave me more satisfaction but stepped up to a Provari a week ago and now am on Cloud 9!

Don't give up. You can do it!
