Hello ecf members,

I'm planning on making a USB passthrough, a Bartleby/Nicostick device, and a Dremel tool mod. Maybe a Detonator in the far future. I'm looking to use the 510 atomizer and the 510 battery for all devices, keep it simple. The only problem I'm having is finding a a sealed 510 battery connector. I found one on altsmoke but it has a hole in the center and I heard that can cause leakage into the device, not good. I really don't want to patch the hole. All the others I found were Chinese and I live the the US. I don't want to pay $15 shipping for a $3 part.

Does anyone know where I could find a sealed connector, or another option. Like the 901 UK telephone jack adapter but for a 501? :-x

Unless other "experts" here have insight on this, your question might better be put to a different set of experts: the Modders, e.g., in the Battery Mods subforum.

I see that you have only one post under your belt. [BTW, Welcome to ECF! You seem already to be vaping savvy.] Therefore you cannot yet start your own thread outside the New Members forum (or here in ATE). But you can search the Modders forum for related topics and hitch a ride by posting your query as a reply to someone else's thread.

Even if one of my more technically astute fellow experts here can assist you, I do suggest you explore that Modders forum. It appears to be right up your alley!

How long ago did you order 510 connectors from altsmoke? I *thought* he was selling sealed 510s these days, but I could be mistaken. As far as I know the connectors from heavens gifts are not sealed. The connectors that -I- carry for the 510 are sealed however - the center post is a solid piece of brass (the 401, 801, 901 are NOT).

I have a stickied thread in the modders forum for connectors, but my supplies are limited and I will not be re-ordering, so once they're gone they're gone.

You can also just plug the hole with solder, I know you said you'd prefer not to, but it really doesn't hurt anything and it's easy to do if you've got a decent iron. I would also completely seal the connector in epoxy from the inside of the mod - some e-liquid can still seep past the silicone insulator, sealed or not, and get inside. E-liquid breaks down most every glue, but a 2-part epoxy seems to hold up fairly well to it. The main problem with liquid seepage is when it gets in to your switches. If you're not using a sealed switch, leaked liquid will get in there and stop it from functioning over time.

Of course, unless you're using a properly rated switch, or a mosfet/relay to route the current away from a small tact switch, it's only going to last you a month or two until you need to replace the switch regardless.
