Hey guys, I've owned my A-mod SMPL SS clone for about a month now and I progressively started to get issues. In the beginning it was firing flawlessly, this thing fired as good as my penny mod. Then it progressively started to get tougher to fire. I tried taking the button apart and cleaning it thoroughly; I've tried to adjust the 510 pin on my dripper and the issue still occurs. The gold plated pin is starting to chip away, not sure if that could be the cause of the issue. At times the button will even get hot without even igniting the coils. I was wondering if anybody has had the same issue and possibly figured out a remedy for it. I was even thinking of sanding the pin down and redoing the paint. Thanks guys!

A hot button with no heat to the coils sounds like a direct short at your 510 pin to ground (the 510 threads).
Are you sure your atty has an "adjustable" 510 pin? you're not just making it loose to make it stick out, are you? If it's free-spinning after you back it out, it's not adjustable. It's dangerous. If it doesn't stick out beyond the threads and stay tight, it shouldn't be used. This mod does not forgive making that kind of mistake.

What's your atty reading on your ohmmeter?

Sanding down the pin to re-do the paint? Huh?
