first, 2nd pull harsh then all normal after. why?

not sure if this is the right forum for this but here goes.

i am vaping on cutwood yellow cake 6mg which i believe to be 75vg/25pg ... a friend brought and here i am trying it.

anyways. heres the deal.

i made a new coil. i wicked my cotton. i get around 0.3 and this is a double stainless steel build.

i goto put juice on my cotton then give it a few presses of the power button then i wet it again with more juice.

when i take that first puff it is harsh on the throat....
so its not a long pull.
after that i take another pull. and then after another.
its during that third or fourth pull does the juice become pleasent and great tasting.

why is the 1st, 2nd pull so harsh?

i am doing this on two rdas. a velocity (clone) and a wismec indy. both same issue.

i adjusted the air flow to open all the way.

and this is on a ipv3li in power mode at 35-40watts.

Simple math...New coil + new cotton = 3 hit break in.

What @jambi said. Plus let the juice soak in for 5 to 10 minutes
to prime the wick.
Note: Adding a few more drops of juice before hitting may be necessary.

If you do that after few hours of vaping, sort of morning, I used to have the same issue, it was my throat adjusting. At first throat too dry, after few hits more mucus is secreted so it coats the throat and becomes more pleasant.

thats probably it as i have the same issue after leaving the unit for a while.

i found a video on youtube talking about how airflow has a big role in this "throat hit" cause.

essentially you need to "break in" your cotton. generally I have experienced about 30 minutes of constant vaping will make everything taste better! there will be some good hits and some bad hits but just make sure your cotton is juiced and you'll be good to go in no time!
