First build!

so i just did the stove top build for my first, i used the vapers toolbox app and it says with 4 wraps of 24g kanthal i should end up in the ball park of 0.50 ohms, i ordered an ohms meter and that will be here on tuesday but im wondering if the vets can confirm it will be around 0.50 or not.



i checked, rechecked and checked again to make sure the leads are not pressed against the posts or the other coil wraps so im pretty sure there isnt a short, i just wanted to see if anyone could tell me about what ohms they think it will be and if i did a good job or not, please be honest you wont hurt my feelings lol.

Never put power to a coil of unmeasured value. Not worth the risk.

Your pic seems to show your stove build on an ego style - it won't fire that low. Protection circuits "should" kick in, but you may damage the battery anyway.

Per Steam Engine, 24 ga. Kanthal A1 wire would need to be 70.6mm (2.78") in length, post to post... to come in at 0.5Ω resistance.
And like David's observation (who I seem to be stalking following this AM ;-) )... it's highly unlikely that an eGo stick battery is going to be putting out 7+ amps.

Depends on the inside diameter of the coil? You should not be building without an ohm meter. The best way to calculate resistance is by the length of the wire then you test it with a meter. If you do 4 wraps around a 1.5mm drill bit the length will be different from doing 4 wraps around a 3mm bit. OH there is no way an Ego battery is going to do that. They are not built for that.
