I'm not expert by any means but that looks like a little to much wicking. More that I have ever seen on any video I've watched for sure. I am looking forward to the comments here so I can learn something. Like where is the air flow coming from. Thank you for posting this becaause i am sure it will help me as well as others. That is what is so wonderful about ecf. Happy vaping and welcome to the forum. :vapor:

Lol.. I was about to say the same.. like some coils somewhere in your cotton? :) A bit too much cotton IMO. Second, what is the ohms on that? it looks like an awefully little ammount of kanthal, and a dual coil build at that. Look at CLoud Junkie's build.. it has 8 wraps, and it comes down to .2 ohms. Yours looks like 4 wraps... is it .1 ohms? can your battery support that?

at .1 ohms, you'd need a 42 amp battery.. I don't think one of those exists.
at .22 ohms, you'd need about a 20 amp battery... Those exist.

those coils just look dangerous.

26650 MNKE has a 50A burst, when you are vaping you are bursting. Flashlights that remain on take up constant draw. I have built sub-ohm down to .10 and it was fine, it was 42A at 176.4 watts. Remember voltage drop factors into the equation so you can be a bit more extreme if need be.

I vaped on it in the 26650 Stingray because it is only a $72 clone, I would not go below .4 in my Big Nasty though. I will build another one soon and post my setup.

I had no problem with amps. but as you all said the airflow would be poor. Im redoing the build. with more and tighter coils. it tough with the omega bc of the deep wells but it can be done. And to answer laloin. I love it, the original build was built by the guy at the shop it was 8/9 nano coil with cotton balls. was great.

Like other's have mentioned you are probably running something dangerous there. 26 gague with 8 wraps on a 1/16th drill bit is around .5 for a single coil. Not sure what width you are building on but 4 wraps on 1/16th is pretty large coils and would net you around .25 ohm's. You have 2 coils in there so your actually cutting the individual resistance in half as a end result. Which is truly too low of a amp rating for even some of the most popular 18650 batteries.

Check your ohm's make sure they are in a safe range for your particular batteries. With cotton less can be more and lastly imho micro coil's where each wrap touches the next but not overlapping is one of the best builds you can do. Try aiming for 8 or so wraps for each coil.

Looks pretty good now. Just food for thought, but you don't have to go with dual coil either. I suggest trying it both ways and seeing which one works for you. I have some drippers that love dual coil and some that don't and it's not always the ones that I would have thought were going to be better one way or another. Also if you find you don't have enough airflow you might want to consider taking a drill bit to it. I have done that with about 80% of the drippers I own.

A quick and easy wrap is to use a machine screw. It will separate the coils evenly and keep everything tight as you tighten the posts down. Then once it's tightened on the posts, simply unscrew the screw from the coil. I definitely suggest this method for first timers.
I do six wraps on a Xbox screw (have a few laying around from Xbox modding) in dual coil and get 0.5 - 0.6 ohms.

Might I humbly give some suggestions?

1) since you're just starting out on rebuilding, might be better to try single coil first and a higher gauge, maybe 28awg or 30awg.

2) juice taste best when it's freshly dripped onto the coil. It just isn't the same if the wick wicks it up from the well. That's why the Reonauts with cotton wicks and microcoils swear by their Reos.
Squoink, juice on wick, excess flows back, vape. Little to no wicking from well.
So I would suggest cutting back on the wick. But then you would have to drip more often.......or get a Reo . ;-)
