first diy attempt needs help

My first attempt at mixing didn't turn out the way I hoped. I was vaping juices that were 80/20 mainly menthol burst from volcano. But I wanted less PG and cheaper juice. So I got some PG and vg from freedomsmokeusa with some PG nic juice. And mixed some PG with menthol crystals and ended with a 50/50. Using an inferno bat with clearomizer or a boge cartomizer and I don't seem to be getting much out of it. Doesn't even seem to be wicking very well. Would I need a higher voltage to get anything out of a higher vg mix?and do I need to let the juice steep at all to get the menthol kick from it? Any suggestions would really help. Its the only juice I have to vape right now

Menthol will strengthen over time. A lot of vendors thin VG, they have to as I've had some vendor VG juice and mine is twice as thick.

You coould also make some primarily PG unflavored and vape that for now until your other juice comes out.

50/50 might be kind of thick for wicking? I don't know since I use 80/20. You could try adding a few drops of vodka, PGA, or distilled H20 to a couple of mls of your juice and see if that helps wicking.

Just to add; more voltage will increase the problems you are having since it will turn a great volume of juice to vapor and dry the coil out even quicker.

Try thinning your mix down.

What percentage of your menthol solution did you make the juice with?

I put 7 ml of PG in a 10ml bottle and stuffed crystals in til the bottle was full. My whole mix ended with 100 ml. 50 vg 30 PG 10 PG of 100mg nic juice and the 10 ml PG of menthol.

Would the vodka, pga, or water enhance or detract from flavor or vapor or throat hit. And sorry for the noob question but what's pga? Thanks for all tips people!!!

PGA = pure grain alcohol (Everclear).

Vodka and PGA tend to enhance throat hit, and adding a few drops of water wouldn't noticbly detract from it.

I'm not sure (haven't used menthol myself) but I think you only need a tiny amount of menthol crystals to make strong juice? That might also be an issue, now or down the road.

I'm amazed that that much menthol didn't result in a numb mouth.

Since there was an indication that there was nothing going on in the taste department and no mention of numbing, I really have no idea what to think.

PGA is pure grain alcohol. You don't need much to make the juice thinner, so it probably wouldn't detract too much from the flavor.

I don't use menthol, but it seems like you used quite a bit? 10% of the total being made up of a strong menthol solution seems like a lot. I've heard that a little goes a long way. But like I said, I've never used it, so I don't know.

Yea where I got my crystals from they said to do half PG and half crystals, mix and put 5% in for a strong menthol. If u ever had or read a review of menthol burst from volcano u would understand what kind of a kick I was looking for.

If you ever want to know what the abbreviations are that we use here on ECF just hoover over the ones that have a dotted line under them and an explanation will pop up.

As for the menthol crystals, you're making the PG/menthol solution and then adding 5% of that to your base? IF so, you may either need to add more or let it steep for a few days. If you're adding your crystals directly to your base it seems like way to much from what I've read about it, I've never actually done it.

thanks for the help used some dw and everything is working fine and reading some other posts i warmed up the juice in a warm cup of water to help the vg break down a little bit. starting to get some good menthol coming out. been analog free for 7 months and just about bought a pack this morning on the way to work i was so frustrated. thanks for saving my .... guys

thanks good dog, didnt get that little perk on my phone though. trying to drive a forklift and post on my phone all day. was interesting lol. i made my menthol mix then added to my base once my menthol crystals dissolved i added it to my base
