Im a 25 year old male and generally healthy, i try to eat well and generally try to exercise. Today I went to the doctor for the first time since switching to vaping/quitting smoking. It has been a month and a half, approximately. My blood pressure is down from 140/? to 116/60. No weight has been gained at all. I didn't ask the doctor about my lungs, but I can assure you they are functioning pretty darn good. I ran 7.25 miles with an overall pace of 7:43 a mile just last week. If i was still a smoker I don't think it would have been possible to do so at such a pace.

Also, when the nurse asked me if I smoked I said I did but I quit. She asked no more questions and flipped through my chart to write something down. I didn't explain that I vape, as I plan on quitting at some point soon. I'm currently down to 6 mg nic per ml.

Sme people in other threads had mentioned that their doctor said they weren't an ex smoker until they'd been smoke free for a year. My doc didnt say that at all nor did he or the nurse indicate anything like this.

They didn't test for nicotine. The only test they ran was for strep. I went because I was sick. In fact when I did smoke they never tested me for nic. I wonder if the insurance company will one day request that to lower my rate? The doctor was aware that I attempted to quit because I tried and failed miserably with chantix, so maybe the nurse assumed it worked and marked it down?

we all have to read up about nicotine so we don't get screwed by Obama care. this is the sticking point with them to still classify us as smokers. this is how they plan to deny people insurance. price it so far out of reach, that long term smokers won't be able to get it. also possibility for lawsuits against the insurance industry because of this exact issue. i am not even having the insurance issue discussed until my nic levels are undetectable.

Wish there were more people like you to speak out so more people were more well informed! Props to you!

as the old saying goes " it's easy to quit smoking, I've done it hundreds of times!"
a friend who is a dentist (DMD) says that small amounts of nicotine are great for the digestive system. He also says that he intends to vape for the rest of his life. It is also his fault that I am here right now. (thank you)

Way To Go ! Hang In There ! I told my doctor I had quit smoking and she asked how ! So I told her I was using an e-cig ! Her reply was "That's Great I have a bunch of patients that have quit smoking by using e-cigs" ! I've been cigarette free for a little over 4 months now and I think that I can now say "I've Quit Cigarettes For Ever Thanks To Vaping" ! Just "Keep Calm and Vape Strong" !!

thanks for the words of encouragement you guys. i agree that vapers are nonsmokers, regardless of the amount of nic they are ingesting. but hey, these days it doesnt doesn't matter what you think, or what your doctor thinks. your stupid, and the government is smart. and starting soon, as some people have posted, your insurance will skyrocket due to obamacare and nicotine. this is really unfortunate (i wont get into it) but its now the law and we've got to deal with it.

as i said im currently at 6mg, i just ordered 0mg and plan to phase that in with the rest of my 6 mg nic and only buy the 0 from here on out. hope it goes well, probably will be some sort of adjustment just as the initial switch was.

as far as health goes, at almost two months with no analogs, i can say i not only feel much better but my health is better. my circulation and respiration is better. my blood pressure is down and its MUCH MUCH easier to exercise now. when i smoked and would run i would become winded to the point id be dizzy. now i can run further and faster, probably better than the average 25 y/o, and it takes much less time for my to catch my breath, if any at all, once i stop. my sense of smell is 10x better and so is my sleep.
