Take nice long drags and drink lots of water. You are just in "OMG I am not smoking panic mode". You are addicted to Nic and all the other ingrediants. You need to let your body know you will not give in to the tantrum. As long as you feel it is just a tantrum.
But if you need an Analog..go ahead. We are not all analog free, lots of people have a few a day to get them through. It took me a week od 2 analogs a day to finally give them up.
But if you can let them go, the cravings will lighten up faster and you will be vaping like you smoked in a little while.

Yes I have noticed that I am not taking long drags but I sure have been putting the water away today! This makes me thristy! Yes I am in that mode for sure! I did smoke some off and one since I got my Vapor King and this is the day I decided no more analogs. I have to quit those for my health and since I had a few each day for the past few weeks while vaping, today is the day I decided to stop them all together and get going on vaping totally. I want to get through all of these withdrawls until vaping seems like a norm to me. I have been looking for a lighter and ash tray all day in my office only to remember they are not in here because I don't need them LOL. Thanks Mary, you are the sweetest! I joined the Woman's room too. You all will be seeing alot of me ;)

Something to keep in mind....although the majority of people who vape end up quitting cigs, some don't plan to. They do both depending on the situation. Unlike gum, patches and lozenges...e-cigs are not an all or nothing thing. You can taper as needed. Don't stress the goal...and just go with the flow. Let things happen on their own.

Thanks Max and I will check out the 36mg! Nothing wrong with it at all! This is an all or nothing for me however. I have been diagnosed with first stages of COPD and I have finally found something (vapeing) that I can quit with. I realize not everyone feels or wants that but for myself I do want and need it. You all are so wonderful and so supportive, thanks from the bottom of my heart!

This is true, I think I could get a little bottle of 36mg and try it. Do you chain vape 36mg all day?

I used 36mg in the beginning, too. For several months. It's what got me over the hurdle. Now I vape 24mg for the most part and I'm slowly switching over to 18mg.

If you need 36mg to make it work, I wouldn't hesitate.

Nicotine delivery from vaping is not the same as cigs.

When I started just shortly ago, I tried vaping at 36 mg. It killed my throat and still didn't give me the "kick" I needed. So I tried the patch, which worked well, but I couldn't fight the really strong cravings (like after meals, etc.). So I started vaping 36mg with the 24mg patch on. I'd only vape when I got the strong cravings and huff it till I got my buzz on.

I have decreased my patch to 14mg and my carts to 18mg.
But I have steadily been vaping more and more. I'm up to 3 cartos a day (still wearing the 14 mg patch).
But I don't smoke cigarettes - which is my main goal :)

When I started back in the middle of Feb, I was vaping 36mg and smoking 12-15 cigarettes a day. I was a 2pk red Pall Mall 100 which equals to 48mg of nicotine. Since the beginning of April I went down to 2 cigs a day for 10 days. Then April 25th rolled around I was at the end of my last pack which lasted 10 days and the last day the cigs were tasting like ..., so I told myself no more. I have not had a cig in 9 days.

So it does take time for some of us, but do not give up.

One thing that nobody has mentioned is the psychological factor.

I'm a firm believer that the rhythm of smoking is an addiction all it's own. Packing a cigarette, lighting it, ashing it, putting it out... it's a rhythm you have trained yourself to enjoy. Vaping doesn't provide that same rhythm. There's no beginning or end. So it will feel weird for awhile. No getting around it.

My first week off the cigs, I genuinely missed putting out my cigarettes. I don't know why. But every time I thought about cigarettes, it was a thought connected to either lighting one up or putting one out - not the actual smoking. It's a habit, plain and simple, and you're probably just feeling a little weird about changing it.

The good news is, if you can just vape through those weird feelings and urges, it gets better fast. After a week or two, it won't feel so weird anymore. Even a few days off the analogs will clear your head a bit.

In the meantime, vape like crazy, down that water, and try to keep occupied - it helps keep your mind off the cravings.

Hi Brooke1975. Hang in there, COPD is not something to take lightly.

It might not be the most 'lady like' solution, but, I find I miss something once in a while just vaping so I use Camel SNUS. It's spitless, no one can tell you're using it, it tastes okay, you can get it anywhere, and it adds (in a safer way than being a '.... head') some of those missing tobacco alkaloids that vaping alone can't provide. One can has 15 pouches and I use maybe 5 a week. There is a forum here at ECF on the subject. Good luck!

Good luck, but do be careful with over-vaping and direct lung hits during the first week or two. My wife and I both had killer sore throats at first and learned the hard way. Once we backed off a bit and drew into the mouth first, before inhaling, life improved. In fact, quitting cigs via vaping was a lot easier than I'd expected. Keep it going!

I tried to say this exact same thing in another thread but this says it much better. That first week to 10 days I really missed that "done now" feeling I had once I'd finished a cigarette and put it out in the ashtray. The entire sequence sure was a habit with me. At least as much as the inhaling itself.

And as others have told you. If you just gotta have an analog have it. Just keep vaping otherwise and perhaps next time the need won't be quite as strong until you can get by without.

If that never seems to happen you may be missing the MAOIs and other chemicals from tobacco. Check out the section of the forum dealing with other methods and look for the Swedish Snus threads.

I totally agree! This is day 2 and I am feeling some better.
I am still vapeing like crazy and drinking lots of water but I feel like I can actually breathe plus more energy. I haven't started coughing up yucky stuff like people say they do when they quit smoking, I guess that is because I am vapeing. But should my lungs start clearing and healing still? I am going to order some 36mg cartomizers and try them before I order the juice. I think I need more then 24mg to get me through! I will take it easy on the 36mg and know when is time to stop before I get sick. I have noticed the 24mg PG does hurt your throat, will that go away? The VG cartomizers I got are great and soothe my throat when the others aggravate it.

Thanks! yes we have Snus here that my hubby was teasing me about using. I told him I just might if I get the mind set that I need an extra kick :) I don't think there is anything wrong with a lady using it! I don't care what others think about me when it comes to quitting smoking, if they have that much time to judge then they have too much time on their hands ;)

I use snus occasionally when vaping alone leaves "something missing". And I have always had to vape 36 mg because I smoked 2 pks a day. I also chain vape pretty much, and see nothing here that is in any way "unladylike".

I was firmly in the "something's missing" camp when I started vaping too. And went through the whole story of depression, relapse, feeling sick as a dog, sore throat, stuffy head thing too. Snus was a real godsend for keeping me on track. The smokeless tobacco sub forum here at ECF is full of great threads for and about those of use who can't just ape for whatever reason.

I love my Vapor4Life gear and flavors, but can't make it without that something extra that snus delivers.
