We've had our ego kit for a month and a half, and have found that it's still performing perfectly, with the only exception being slightly less charge length which I'll get into in a minute. I purchased a new passthrough battery from janty because I'm at the computer all day and my husband is on the go, so he's taken over the original two-batt ego kit, which we were sharing at first. (Both of us would run a battery down at about the 14 hour mark, more or less.) We've only blown one atty in that time of constant vaping. I use a LR, he prefers a regular atty, fwiw.

Now he's able to run a battery down in about 9 hours. It's hard to tell if that's because he vapes more than he did at first (he was vaping like he'd smoke at first - in short bursts, but then caught on that its better to keep ahead of any cravings, not catch up to them) or maybe it is a battery issue. Still, with the two batteries at his disposal, it works perfectly.

I, on the other hand, am loving my passthrough unconditionally. With a son in college now, we've been taking frequent 6 hour road trips and I just keep my janty battery (also stainless - a little longer than the standard ego battery to accommodate the usb port) plugged in most of the time whether at home or in the car. Additionally, I love that you can be super lazy with the passthrough setup - I haven't seen or touched my atty in almost a week - no blowing out, no nothing. Once in a while I'll unscrew the cone and wipe down the atty, but I've been hitting this thing hardcore for ages and just cycle through complementary juices as I drip to my hearts content.

We haven't had any issues with the hot-pocket you mentioned, but I did note that they've listened to that complaint, as there is now a little guard you can slip over the button to prevent accidental power.

I think for what the eGo is basically billed as around here - a great starter PV to get you successfully started and/or off analogs - it serves its purpose perfectly. I love the look and machining quality of my janty stainless, dh loves his regular black ego, and honestly, if we did have battery failure in the future, I'm not convinced I'd move to a mod just yet - though it's probably inevitable the way I shop!
