. . . and was this close to buying one (pinching fingers gesture), but then the dude at Don Quixote told me that they don't contain any nicotine.

One Google later I found something called "TaEco" or something like that - but I couldn't figure out much more as my Japanese reading ability isn't quite up to snuff yet.

Are e-cigarettes illegal in any sense in Japan? I bought a starter kit the last time I went to Hawaii, and the Japanese-American who was running the kiosk said that they were illegal to sell. But the existence of Mismo kind of argues against - unless it's true that they don't contain any nicotine.

Anybody know anything else about the legality of buying e-cigarettes in Japan?

Sorry I can't help with the info on retailers, other thank checking at Don Quixote and tobacco stores at malls.

I'd recommend ordering online though. I've never run into customs problems on any of the dozens of orders that I've placed for parts and liquids. Stuff is a LOT cheaper online and of much better quality than anything you'll find in stores as well.

I am moving to Japan soon, well Camp Zama actually. Will I have any issues bringing my 510 + accessories with me?

If you mean on the plane you shouldn't have a problem... just remember if you are bringing liquid double bag it... and it might be safe to put it in check in bagage... as far as the batteries carry on might be the way to go.

when you get to zama shoot me a pm... it would be nice to have a fellow vaporer in the AO

I had no problems with juice, batteries, Janty Stick, GG Grant, etc all in my carry on. Just make sure the bottle sizes are small. They didn't even take the stuff out to look at it. Just ran it through the x-ray machine.

Yeah I reread my previous post and edited one thing I meant to say you shouldn't have a problem not that you shouldn't do it :p hehe

yes small juice with the 3-2-1 rule (check the TSA site for travelling with liquids) but it is always safe if you double bag it and put it in check in.

as far as batteries I know for a fact that they will take them out of checked baggage and toss them should they inspect and they find them in your luggage( happened to me)... it's ok in the carry-on though

again all in all you should be fine and Jboze is right in what he said as well

Hey lightgeoduck!
I am a fellow... well guess if you check out my SN you will get the idea... in Shimane-ken though, so that sucks. Got a question for you if you don't mind too much. I am vapor-less as of yet, thinking of getting my first. Do you have to order international from the States or elsewhere and if so do you have any problems with customs? We all know how much officials dot 'i's and cross 't's here so your info would be much appreciated as my j-wife wants me off the tar m(_ _)m

If you order from inside 日本 could you pass along any info you might feel is worthy?

よろしく!!

I order from China a lot. Check out Healthcabin Electronic Cigarettes - Wholesale and Retail, Wholesale & Retail Best E-smoking Supplier, www.eastmall.net - Eastmall International Co.,Ltd, and BestEcig-Newest Mini E-cigarette|E-cigarette|wholesale e-liquid.

If you live on a military base then you might want to order from some of the American sites. You should be able to get cheap shipping that way. If you're not military then I'd suggest sticking to China. You can always order from Euro and US stores but you'll pay a hefty premium and most of the US sites don't ship internationally.

What kind of e-cig are you looking for by the way?

Jboze - sorry for taking so long to get back to you. I ran across Heaven Gifts and Health Cabin, didn't realize the others were in China as well though, thank you for that info! I was thinking of starting with the 510 and the mega atty to see which of the two attys were best for me in the short term. Kinda hit a big ol snag in the whole process though since there aren't any Japanese sites (unless I am mistaken and they accept bank transfer) and I can't load money into paypal without a credit card... kinda put a damper on my parade as I have been here long enough not to have any of the advantages of U.S. yet not long enough to qualify for any of the advantages of Japan lol kinda sucks. If any of you ever decide to start group ordering, please let me know I will be all over that like a fat kid on a cup-cake.

Spoke too soon... guess there is a way around that for people who want to add funds to Paypal in japan who don't have credit cards... it costs an extra 1,500 yen (150 yen per 1,000 yen added - my order is about 10,000 yen) and takes an extra 24-48 hours but seems like it would work... if you can read Japanese or have someone read it to you, you can do it at Paypal-EXGOLD they work as an agent between your bank and Paypal since you can't load funds to paypal through a Japanese bank account without a credit or debit card. (there I think I got all the keywords so others might find this in search engines lol only took me 4 months to find that info!). Costs more, but what do ya do eh?

Really? So they got you paying an extra $4 per mega atty and an extra (almost) $7 dollars for mega cartridges but its not really a mega atty anymore? would that be considered false advertising? haha Well thank you for saving me the $11... that almost pays for the ex-gold fee

Yep. Just made them to hold more juice. Probably nice if you use carts but I only drip so there's zero reason for me to use them. They're not high voltage atties or anything special. Just regular 510s with a longer tube.

Might want to check out the Ego/Tornado right away too if you're going down the 510 route. Duck and I were going to put in a bulk order with HealthCabin for the Ego if they ever put it up on their site.
