Get the Zmax and wait for the evic that is coming with the headphone jack for mp3's (the board and code in the evic already supports mp3)

Just joking about the headphone jack by the way (or am I?)

actually the zmax is the better one due to it being telescopic so you can use 18350 thru 18650 batteries

the only exciting thing about the evic that I see is that you can download your vaping habits to your computer (why? - my vaping habit is chain vaping, tracking it would only freak me out)

I've been researching at great length what my 1st big mod was going to be and I pulled the trigger today. I was researching mech mods at first but decided I am not interested in dripping or any type of system I cannot lay on its side without worry of juice spilling out so mech mods were ruled out. I then found myself torn between the evic, zmax, sid, vamo, tesla and svd. I watched all the pbusardo, igetcha69 and grimgreen reviews and read countless reviews on this forum and found the Sid to be the most desirable. The Sid is automatically in RMS mode, has a nice easy to read screen, is accurate with its settings, is lightweight, has a very universal 510/eGo connector that will seamlessly take almost any tank you can find, is not excessively fat or long and last but not least can be had for under $40. A few people have complained about the head acting weird but this is an inexpensive, mass produced and highly sold mod and nothing is perfect 100% of the time

I love me some eVic ... it has been my primary mod for the last 7 months ... that said, this being black friday and all, I did order a Sigelei Legend to try out ... you know ... the shake weight mod ... ;)

Seriously though, the eVic is awesome, and even with it's shortcomings, you will be very happy with it. As for the Zmax, I was looking at the V5, and trying to find one until I found the Black Friday deal on the Legend ... Shiny!

Good luck with your decision, regardless of which you choose, I'm sure it will serve you well and you will like it a LOT. I can't wait to hear which way you go and how much you like it!

Im about to pull the trigger tomorrow on the evic but the local B&M im getting through has the new zmax and got me interested.

Anyone tried both? which do you prefer and why?? i'll be using PT2 and carto tanks

Not sure about the zmax, but I have the evic and I really like it except………It feels really cheap and plastic like. Even though it's a good mod it doesn't have the right "weight" until you put the battery in. And the menu's are a bit to much to fuss with when all I want is to turn it on and vape. It is a solid piece of hardware as far as reliability goes.

There is one and only one huge reason to get the eVic, USB charging. I hate the need for a special charger, I wrap 1.2 ohm coils and smash EFEST 18650's like they are going out of style. Being able to use one of those handy portable charging batteries would be great when I'm working and can't vape.

I'm not sure the evic is meant to be charged through the usb port. (The battery is a removable 18650) That's only for downloading usage info and upgrades to the software. Correct me if i'm wrong.

The eVic is a passthrough ... to be used while charging via USB

The evic amp output and watt limit is restricting if you get into rebuilding coils on a RBA or something similar. I almost bought the zmax v5 but ended up going with a vamo v5 based on cost

Exactly the same choice I made and the Amp limit is what posted about in link, it's defo a reason why the choice between the 2 the Zmax would be option.

Since i didnt get to see this before I purchased (forgot too, got destracted with shiny stuff) I decided to buy both!!

lol my local b&m gave me a 14day full money back on the one I decide to return. So far I do like both Im kind of on the fence about the zmax button longevity, I feel like its gonna give within a few months or so. Any owners wana chime in??

Evic is easy to navigate once I read through it all. It did take some time to figure it out though but thats ok needed to learn anyways.

Not into RDA RBA and such. Hassle for a on the go vaper like me. Plus I lack the no-how. Only thing ive done is a PT2 nano and micro but I had one on one help

I can't speak to the Zmax button, but the button on my eVic is holding up VERY nicely! Almost 8 months of constant use, and no issues at all. The new Legend arrived, and my immediate thought was that the button may fail quickly (not sure if the Zmax is the same or not), but it feels very loose and sloppy compared to the button on the eVic.

Ill go at this from a different angle. I'm not a fan of the 33mhz PWM chips in a lot of the mods. For that reason alone I would go with the Evic - iirc it uses a 101 mkz chip with only around a 2 volt swing in its peak to peak voltage output instead of 6 volts on and off (no rattlesnake effect). That all being said I went with the MVP2 because it has a flat output.

I just got the Zmax V5 (as a gift) I agree the button is a lil odd..... but over all I really love it.... BUT I wanted the Vamo 5....
my vape shop now has them, my daughter was lucky enough to get one yesterday and I watched and drooled all over it....

I think I'll end up having to bite the bullet and get myself one... it's just soooo pretty..... LOLOL
