To quote Ralph Wiggum, "It tastes like burning."

Heh. Well, if it tastes like you've lit paper and dry leaves on fire and then sucked the smoke right into your lungs, I might not notice THAT. ;)

The thing spat some juice into my mouth a little while ago. Hadn't done THAT before. I hadn't just filled it or anything, don't know why it would do that after two days of NOT doing it. Not sure what I may have done wrong (but I bet there are forum posts about it if I look!)

It's a bad taste, nothing like cigarettes, but just bad.

I don't know much about the ViviNova tanks, but my Protank II used to have that problem until I blew in the tube to get the excess juice out, and started cleaning around it religiously with a Q-Tip after filing. And don't suck so hard! ;)

Perhaps you pulled a bit hardaer that time and sucked the juice up into your mouth. This is a learning process, a enjoyable one I think. I absolutely love vaping and have not looked back. I was 2+ PAD and I enjoy vaping so much more than I did killing myself by inches with the stinkys.

Congartulations and welcome. The easiest thing for variable voltage so you don't have to worry about ohms and volts is to get a VW variable wattage Mod. Thats what I did and I am an Extra class Amatuer Radio Operator (Ham) and I don't even want to deal with the hassle. LOL.

Good luck to you.

i was a newport smoker as well for 12+ years. what i do is keep a tank full of a menthol juice and keep a couple other tanks filled with some non menthol juices and just rotate what I'm puffing on. if your just vamping on the same juice day after day your going to get tired of it. try some mtbakervapor.com juice. its very good and its really cheap.

Congrats on your first 24 hours. :toast: It feels great. I am celebrating my 2 week anniversary so I remember vividly my first day without a smoke.

There is definitely a learning curve to vaping. I had problems at first with juice in my mouth, leaking, ect. Just remember this isn't a cigarette. Don't try to smoke it like one. Nice easy draws and let the atomizer heat up a bit before drawing on it. Before you know it it will be all second nature and leaks, gurgling, ect. will be a thing of the past.

I'm learning! I read the beginner's information on how to vape and it helped. I am used to drawing on a cigarette. and sucking as much smoke as possible deep into my lungs. (Man, that sounds nasty, but that's how it is.) So I am learning different ways of using this new thing. It did seem to snap and pop and spit juice at me. Hasn't done it since.

The juice actually didn't taste bad, not NEARLY as bad as lighting the wrong end of a "stink stick." (I like that phrase!) But I think it's probably more concentrated that you ought to have in your mouth. Anyway, it didn't over-nicotine me. I KNOW what that feels like (smoking with a patch on will do it.)

It appears that the eGo-C twist 650 maH will last me about seven hours of vaping. Not bad, since I will not use it nearly as much on a weekday when I'm working, and the 1100 maH I ordered should get here before next weekend!

I visited a local store today. I have to say, the place did NOT smell good. About as bad as the local Cheaper Cigarette place. But the people were very nice, both customers and staff, and I got some replacement wicks/coils and some juice (prices were higher than online, but I understand the need to support a local brick-and-mortar shop.)

Congrats! I finally gave up the cigs in June and I haven't looked back. I also live in SF, I don't really have any B and M shops to recommend, there is one that is good if you are looking for a mech. mod or an RDA, but that's in the future. Keep your head up, the health results start coming quickly! I am still amazed that I don't lose my breath walking up hills/stairs anymore, and ride my bike on the daily for the first time in a decade. And I don't stink anymore!

I'm actually an hour north of SF, I use SF because people know where it is. We have two shops in my town and one in the town north of me. They all get mixed reviews from folks, but I figured I would just check them out myself and see.

Congratulations to all who have had such amazing successes with this. And StandingOnTheMoon, if you bike in the city, you not only have good lung capacity, you have decent other attributes. ;) It takes enough nerve just to drive there!

I guess the first hit has more vapor? It feels fuller somehow? More throat hit?
You think you're not getting dry hits because they don't taste burned, but there's a spectrum between dry and flooded with a sweet spot in the middle. :)

Your description here suggests that your juice isn't wicking quite fast enough for the temperature you're using. If you have variable voltage, I'd recommend turning it down just a little. If you don't have variable voltage, you may want to try removing a flavor wick....
