Hi everyone,

Just wanted to say a big thanks to all that contribute on this forum. What a great community. ;)

I have come a long way in my understanding of electronic cigarettes. A couple of weeks ago I came across an advert for an electronic cig (think it was a gamucci). Since then I delved a little deeper and have subsequently viewed all of Igetcha’s and Teraphon’s video reviews (big up to you guys what an excellent job you have both done), read the majority of posts on this forum and a couple of others.

Anyway let me cut to the chase - Today I received my Intellicig Evo. I unfortunately was not at home to sign for my delivery from TW (a Titan and some tobacco liquid).

This is my first electronic cigarette so I do not have anything to compare it with apart from smoking analogues for over 20 years (last 7 of which I rolled my own) and a nicorette inhalator (non vapour thing) as well as just about every other NRT type.

There are a couple of things I would like advice on I will post these as separate posts as I don’t want to write war and peace here in my first post!

I think the Evo is great I really cannot believe how close this really is to a smoking “feel”. Vapour, in my inexperienced opinion, is spot on. However, I was the type of smoker (omg I am talking about smoking in the past tense already and I have only tried this thing for 5 hours!) that liked to blow the smoke out of my nose as well as my mouth and I find the smell/taste of nicotine is very strong. I have tried both tobacco and menthol cartridges (menthol is better at covering the nicotine smell). I am talking about that nicotine smell you get when you open a fresh cartridge (or the pack the cartridges came in) it is the same smell as NRT patches and nasal spray. I am certainly getting no “tobacco” smell or taste. The taste/smell is similar to the Nicorette Inhilator. Maybe I have to learn to vape without using my nose.

The cartridges are 18mg and I think they are providing the right amount of nicotine for me. Can anyone suggest a TW liquid that is good at masking the nicotine smell/taste at 18mg? I have considered dropping to a lower nicotine strength to see if that helps.

Sorry this is a bit long for a first post. Once again a big thanks to all who participate on this forum. The information here has been invaluable.

Kula.

Hi Caeserea,

Thanks for the prompt reply. I was thinking that it might just be my sense of smell but my wife who smokes (a lesser amount than me) said "that stuff stinks" Now I didn't think she would be able to smell the vapour but she can and does'nt want me vaping in the house!!

Nightmare! Anyway I am vaping in the house, only doing it upstairs in the computer room - here was me looking forward to sitting infront of the tv and vaping away till my hearts content.

It maybe just intellicigs premade cartridges that have that particular nicotiney smell. I did do a search on the forums but no-one else seemed to mention the nicotine smell. I will be round the collections office first thing in the mornig to try the TW Tobacco juice.

I just bought a Joy 306a super mini from vapor guys last week. My wife who also smokes (smoked?) has an extremely sensitive nose and unless I don't inhale and blow the vapor right in her face (Hey baby, watch this!) she can't smell anything.

Maybe its the 306a carts or the Johnson Creek liquid but I'm sure there are options out there that your wife wont mind :)

She's clearly jealous, Kula. Give her a wee shot of your Titan when it arrives and she'll fall nicely into line! :D

To be serious though, I've not heard anyone say that vaping smells before. Could just be the cartridges.

There's a juice loose aboot this hoose! :)

It's a pity you aren't both vaping (minus any analogs).

(I dunno how _you_ can stand the pong of _those_, now that yr vaping!)

Generally folks say there is very llittle smell if any from vaping, and I know rabid anti smokers who have no idea at all how funny they are when they sniff at me and then assume I have "given up" and ask for the usual confession stuff that makes them feel righteous. "Don't you regret you ever took up smoking?" sez one of them with a smirk, then v. cross when I said no.

I can't claim to have given anything up, nor do I have regrets, except that e-cigs weren't invented a few decades ago.

I'm almost as new to this as you are, but I can see there are loads of different carts and juices to try - hope you find some that minimise the domestic hassles and let you relax in front of the telly again. Mind, it can be a bit relaxing, all that oxygen.

Good hunting!

I think maybe I was being a bit over exhuberant when showing her the Evo - I was just well chuffed with it. I did kind of blow the vapour in her face - not in a bad way, just wanted to show how it worked. Also she tends to be very scpetical about my "gadgets". She nearly fainted when she came home and saw the 42" Plasma instead of the 32" CRT "thats far too big!" was the initail comment but after a couple of episodes of 24 there were no more complaints!

Well I have a day off work tomorrow and I am planning on vaping indoors all day and I will see what she says when she gets back. Don't get me wrong I lover her very much and when we bought and renovated our house we decided not to smoke indoors, I think she is just concerned about the house smelling. I hope I have'nt painted her in a bad light. I am sure at some point she will be having a look at this forum.

Thanks for all the replies.

....Today I received my Intellicig Evo.
I haven't got mine yet boo hoo :( Still waiting for mine to be shipped.
Same here! It seems like an eternity as I can't wait to get started, but in reality it's only been a short time. It's the 'not knowing' when it will arrive that's doing my head in!

May I ask, when did each of you order?

Thanks Kula.

Yes - I know about the delays and did receive the email (they have also been fantastic at emailing replies to questions). I know they are working through the backlog, and yesterday they still had orders dating back as far as 12th March, so it's great that they appear to be up to 18th March now... they seem to clearing it fast which means it shouldn't be too much longer WAYHAY! :D
