Hey All...

I got my first e-cig today and just now gave it a try. I'm trying the Joye 510 and using the pre-filled carts that came with the starter kit. The cartridges are Marlboro with 25mg of nicotine.

I gotta say... I already like it! I'm not real big on regular cigs because I have been smoking Swisher Sweet Mild cigs for quite a while now and regular flavored smokes just taste nasty. This vaping, however, is a whole different taste. The tobacco flavor is actually the smell of real tobacco. Does that make sense? If you were to break open a cig and smell the tobacco leaves, this vaping is how that would taste. MUCH better than the smoke ever tasted! I can't wait to try my other sample flavors!

I already know, however, that I will have to switch to a much lower nicotine level because these 25mg ones are knocking me on my tookas! Serious buzz!

I'm also gonna have to get use to the fact that there is nothing on fire near me that I have to keep an eye on. Heh! I keep handling my 510 like it's gonna burn something.

The vapor is okay. Id like to experiment with some of the filler mods and play around with it. Throat hit is fine. (Like I know what I'm talking about here!) I'm really pleased that it does, indeed, seem like a great alternative to smoking. I'm hoping to quit the analogs soon and eventually cut back on the nicotine as well. I'd really love it if I could have a 'smoke' for the pure enjoyment of it and not the craving.

Anyhoo, that's my first review. Thanks everyone!

Welcome aboard and congrats and taking the first step to become analog free! I am replying because you describe the taste of the ejuicethe same way I do. Its hard to describe it, especially to someone who has never tried it before but I guess I must have been on to something the whole time seeing how our descriptions are exactly the same.

Pull up a chair and get comfortable!

Welcome Metsy from another newbie...I have the 510 as well and have been vaping for almost 2 weeks! I love it!! I can't believe I enjoy it so much!! You will learn so much on this forum and will be enjoying your new "hobby" more and more each day! I still have yet to try the cart mods....the polyfil stuff the carts come with gets gunky pretty quick and affects the throat hit...!

Why thanks! Yes, it was very surprising. I think it must be tweaking my childhood memories of my father smoking cigars. Tobacco has such a lovely rich scent when it's not full of additives and such.

Welcome to you too!

I've already learned tons on these boards and they helped me to decide what to buy for my first kit. Great sources of info here. Even though it's growing in popularity, it still feels like being a part of a really cool, little known club.

Metsy - got my first e-cig (510) today too. I have to say - I think this could get me off of analogs!

The 25mg carts that come with the starter kits are pretty strong. I wish more starter kits came with optional nic mg levels, but I'm not complaining ....... this is awesome!

You are so right about the smell/taste being of real tobacco. I can only imagine what it will be like when I get my sense of smell and taste back!

I can't believe I'm so excited about this.

Okay, now I have a headache. Is that from the nicotine?

Hi Metsy!

It could be - I got a headache the first night with my 510. I chalked it up to too much nicotine :?: - I started out vaping the pre-filled 18mg carts and wanted to try one of the flavors. I ordered 24mg e-juice. I tried the straw-mod, and filled the cart with the 24mg juice. I was vaping like a house on fire... then.... I got a headache. I drank a ton of water, took some Advil, put the e-cig down for a while, and within an hour or so I was totally fine.

Too much nic can give you a headache... check the thread here - people's reports of their symptoms when they start vaping:
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/health-safety-e-smoking/3305-list-common-symptoms-when-e-smoking.html

Personally, I haven't experienced anything remotely adverse (I'm only on day 6) except for the "night one headache".

It's still a learning thing for me, but I'm really loving it.

It's just so hard to put down isn't it? Listen to your body, and maybe take it a little slower, I'm sure you'll be fine :)

I received my first e-cig mid morning today, almost 12 hours ago. I got the Janty Kissbox, and there are two more working their way toward me, in shipping.

The retailer made a mistake on my order: left out the five pack assorted carts. But, I also ordered some tobacco juice, and I'm dripping with that. I contacted the Janty site about the shipping omission, and they wrote back that they were sending two five packs asap. :) Accidents happen ... but, I wish I had some other flavors to try out this weekend.

I've been smoking about a pack & a half of analogs a day for many years, until today. My last analog was almost 12 hours ago. I just haven't really felt any craving for one, which amazes me! Although, I did absent mindedly light up a cigarette once, just sitting here at the computer. I took a drag or two and put it out. Still haven't figured out what I'm going to do with eight cartons of analog stock (Craig's List, probably).

The 16 mg Tobacco Liquid is quite a bit stronger than the MORE Reds I'm accustomed to, and I coughed up my drag quite a few times ... especially in the first several hours. I've learned to take a smaller draw to prevent blowing my toke. But, I think further purchases will be for lower nicotine ... or maybe learn to cut the high grade stuff with glycerin. Since the juice seems to be the same price regardless of the nicotine content, it seems logical to me that buying high octane and cutting it would be the thrifty thing to do.

Can't wait for my other two kits to arrive next week for me to compare (Vapor King and Blackhawk 510). I've also ordered a number non-tobacco flavored juices.

This is a whole new adventure, isn't it?!

Jason - Congrats to both of us! It really IS exciting! :)

jennlsnoopy - Thanks so much. So far so good! Even with the headache (which is better now) I really enjoyed my first sampling.

5cardstud - I shoulda ordered some mixer but I wasn't sure what nic levels I needed. These boards are VERY helpful!

Remie - Thanks for the advice. I did have to put it up for tonight (even though I really wanna play with my new toy) and went to sit for a while until it wore off a bit.

NCC - I can see where experimenting with all of this could become an addiction in itself! There are lots of flavors and combos I already want to try out. I'm gonna have to be very careful with my budget and not go too nuts on the hardware as well. Too fun!

Thank you everyone for the comments!

Welcome. If you think the prefilled carts are good, wait until you start playing around with a few cart mods and refilling your own carts. To me the blue foam rocks and the prefilled carts don't even come close.

If you're like me, your biggest expense will be trying different juices. I heard such good things about 555, Flue-cured, Virginia, Camel, Hilton and the likes that I now have enough juice that I hate to start a garage sale. Everyone is different so experiment away, but I'm sure you'll find that the prefilled carts are good for starters and not much else.

Good luck.
