Bay area
whats up everyone i'm extremely new to the e-cigarette world. this forum seems to be pretty helpful and interesting so i wanted to join in ..

I bought my first (and only right now) starter kit from 7-11 here in the bay area. I also saw a thread about it.. It's the Xhale o2. It was $20 because the 7-11 employees told me it was a local price since it's HQ or whatever is in San Jose (same thing as this other brand I see in liquor stores called PureSmoke).
I tried out the "mint" and I think it's the menthol flavor because I also purchased the cartridge menthol pack and it almost taste the same.

But (I know this might not be the right place for this question, but wanted to throw it in here..) is this Xhale o2 brand fishy..? I heard something about being an E-health knock off or something? I've seen other brands in some stores around here but they're pretty pricey inside.. like this njoy starter for 99.99.

Anyway though looking forward to coming back here to this board often and sharing my thoughts and whatnot!

Hello Wafflecow! Welcome to ECF. There are a lot of good folks here and lots and lots of information to try to take in. If you want to know something, there's probably a post on it already or someone will be along shortly to provide insight.

I personally can't speak to your current e-cig questions, but I can almost assure you someone with more knowledge than me will be around shortly.

Good to have you here.

Hey WaffleCow, welcome!

I don't know anything about your particular brand of e-cig, but if it works for ya, that is great. At worst, you will know what you don't like about it and look for one that is better in that area. It seems everyone here has their favorites.

At any rate, you've just dipped your toe into the wonderful world of vaping! I'm only ankle deep myself, but I thoroughly enjoy my 510 (just working out the kinks).

Hi! Welcome to ECF!

It's those x-hale things that brought me here to ECF, actually. I saw them at 7-11 and googled them and found this site and ended up with a 510 instead. From what I've heard they aren't really "fishy" at all, and some people really like them. I think they're a bit expensive when you consider that you could be getting a lot more for not much more money though (even at just $20) since they are merely sufficient for most vapers but a good PV can really be "WOW!"

I have them on my list as a back up plan if all my batteries die on the same day or something, but I wouldn't recommend them as your destination PV. They'll impress you enough to interest you in e-cigarettes, but ultimately you'll end up with a 510 or a kr808 or something like that.

IMO: I don't recommend njoy based mostly on the prices/inconsistent quality I hear about. and I don't recommend BLU either (based on the fact they're junk from all I've read-- IMO)
Good Luck!

Hi there waffle. Congrats on you decision to try vaping. I've never heard of your brand of e-cig, but i hope it works out for you. I'm pretty new at vaping myself. I never thought to check the 7-11 that's only a few blocks from me. Thanks for the tip -- if my units breaks down, i know where to go until cignot can ship me another 510 starter kit (hint, hint). And welcome aboard! You're gonna luv the vaping world. If you ever need anything, just ask, someone will always answer or point you in the right direction for info. :)

Hi Waffle, and welcome to the ECF community.

I had to Google what you had as well, and I will agree with everyone else's statement, we all started somewhere.

There is allot of different model's, makes, and styles avaliable but when it is all said and done it really comes down to 3 styles that are the most popular.

1. 302/801 style
2. 510 style
3. 901 style

and on top of that there are several mods that expand on the aforementioned styles to increase performance.

When I started I used a 901, then I got a 510, then I got the mega batteries, then I really dove in and got a Kissbox (302/802 style), and after that I bought a eGo (See the Janty Forum for the kissbox and ego), since all that I just got my first real mod, a Provape, and it works with many different cartridges due to the end caps that are exchangeable.

My next mod, all stainless Steel Precision from Super T Manufacturing.

The point of this is there is a learning curve to follow, and everyone has a different curve to follow, some people start with a Mod and go from there, others begin with a starter kit and learn more later.

regardless every time you use your PV that is one step closer to being analog free (We call regular cigarettes analogues, as they are not electronic)

So, have a look around, get some ideas of what you want to try next, and never be afraid to ask questions, there are allot of very knowledgeable members of this forum that are more then willing to give advice and opinions.

And once again welcome to ECF.

Very nice, informative post PriestSLC.

I do think you should probably add the KR808D-1 (also known as a Vapor King if purchased from Vapor 4 Life or the Nebula if purchased from VaporNine). This is a nice unit for a beginner, I think, because it has a relatively small learning curve and you never, ever have to deal with separate atomizers or even juice / e-liquid if you don't want to. In its simplest form, you have a battery onto which you screw a flavored cartomizer that looks like a cigarette filter. That's it. If you keep your battery charged and keep some cartomizers on hand, you don't really have to worry about too much additional. You can certainly find ways to tweak it or use it differently if you are a gadget person, but you don't have to do much at all to keep things working properly. I liked that very much, especially at first when I was feeling overwhelmed by all of this information.

Sherrick,

The reason I did not mention it is cause I have no experience with it at all I figured that other informed members would fill in the blanks so to speak on other available options.

In the end it is what is comfortable to the user, hence the learning curve, I am only now getting curious about cartamizers and wanting to play around with them, if they can last long enough on my new provape, I may have new vaping option myself.

Thanks for bringing that information up, I know from reading that the Vaporking/KR808D-1 has a great following, and certainly could be what the doctor ordered for our new friend.
