First Post! Need advice :)

So I'm in love with vaping now. I found about about them about 1 week ago and purchased an eGo-c. I've been tobacco free since (1-1.5 pad smoker)!

I need advice on the next step. There are so many terms and abbreviations being thrown around this place it's hard to keep track of it all.

My question is, where do I go from here? I'd like to move up to a VV/VW for ~$100. Maybe a little more if I could be talked into it ;) I understand all MODs will be subjective to the end user but I'm curious to know what my next MOD should be. Seems to me all of them do the same thing; am I wrong? I don't plan on making or rebuilding anything. I've been looking into the Vamo, Innokin SVD, Zmax v5 and a few others. Am I looking in the right direction? Is one better than the other? Is there something new coming out in the coming weeks/months that I should be on the lookout for?

I look forward to hearing your responses and wish you all the best. Happy vaping!

Nice I was in the same boat about 3 months ago havent smoked an analog since. If your already looking to spend $100 I would just get an joyetech evic or drop around $50 more for a provari, its better to go all in in the beginning so your not constantly upgrading. I started with a vamo because it was cheap ($35 starter kit) and I heard good things about it. As far as rebuilding its useful because it saves money in the long run instead of having to constantly spend $2-$4 on replacement cores you can just buy wick and wire and rebuild it so you can custom set your ohms. The good thing about having a VV/VW mod is that they always have the ability to check resistance which is useful for rebuilding.

Smart move joining ecf Ive been vaping and lurking here for 3 months, only started posting to the forum recently. Good Luck!

Thanks Ninjay. I was lurking for about a day lol Tons of useful info and helpful people here. I understand the rebuilding concept a little better now after reading up on it. I guess the main battle at the moment is eVic vs Provari. I do like the display on the eVic though. Would anyone be so kind as to fill me in on the main advantages/disadvantages to either one?

A lot depends on what you are looking for. I know you want VV/VW and that is great. But what about the rest of it. You've looked into some mods. Do you like the latest gadgets or basic functionality? Durability/toughness? Power? Form factor/size and have you thought about a bottom feeder?

Yes, they all provide power to the coil. Yes, all cars get people from point A to point B. I'm not aware of anything coming out in the next while that will change the ecig landscape.

You're going to get a lot of responses and suggestions. Knowing what is important to you will be very helpful for you. Best of luck with it.

Hi

You have a lot of nice mods to compare! My suggestions are that if you are looking at a Zmax (which, personally, I like more than the Vamo) make sure you are considering the Sigelei Zmax and not the Zmax made by Smoktech. The Sigelei gets higher marks in build and the screen. PBusardo has video reviews of both; and when considering the Vamo, steer clear of the black chrome finish. Mine wore off in a couple of months, which I later learned is common.

Where would we find the PBusardo video?

I was mistaken there there is one video that specifically compares the two, but I think this is the one I was thinking of. This is about the Sigelei, but he does compare it to the Smoktech: A PBusardo Review - Sigelei Z-Max - YouTube

He has separate videos comparing the Smoktech and a more recent version of the Sigelei (which has eGo threading and an updated 510 connector).

Robert, Congratulations on quitting the analogs and moving to vaping. My standard advice is read, read, and read some more before you buy, buy, buy. This can quickly become a VERY expensive hobby, rather than a substitute for smoking tobacco. There are lots of new terms as well as a multitude of equipment to learn about before you jump in and start spending your hard earned money. Be sure to click on the "Info Zone" at the top of this page and go to the New Users Section to get lots of basic info, and remember opinions are like A-holes everyone has one. Unless you find a poster that has some long term experience with a lot of different mods take suggestions for equipment with a grain of salt, unless you have a deep wallet.

Best Wishes

Awesome! Thanks for resource. I'll be checking that out shortly.

I hadn't realized there were two different Zmax mods. I was referring to the Sigelei Vmax 5. Specifically, the blacked out one that's on sale for like $68.

I appreciate all of the info!
