I've seen similar threads to this, and I've searched a lot. But I still can't find the exact answer I'm looking for.

I use Vision, Vivi Nova clearomizers, etc. with both a Smoktech E-pipe (18350 battery) and an Ego Upgrade 1000 (on CV setting). I HATE all the replacement heads, the burnt taste, and the changing of form factors, built-in obsolescence, etc. that have me buying a whole new clearomizer about every 4-6 months. Plus the leaking, flooding, etc. is driving me crazy.

I want to move slowly to a bigger mod, bigger battery, etc. but start by fixing this atomizer situation. I also enjoy having a small rig in my pocket and might want to continue to use the batteries I have for a while.

So if I were to start with a mini-RBA like an IGo-F or a Kayfun mini, AGA-S, etc., could I build it (or to start off, have it built :)) at like 1.8 - 2.2 Ohms and pretty much experience the same battery performance I have now? I mean, it is simply low resistance that causes dangerous amperage and/or quick battery drain?

Or is there something else about a rebuildable that makes my battery system immediately obsolete regardless of the resistance of the coil?

I'm aware the two batteries I have (one regulated and running at a constant 3.3 - I think it is - and the other a small 650mAh battery on a mechanical mod) have very different dynamics from one another. But will each behave the same as it did with the small 1.8-2.2 Ohm disposable (despicable) clearomizer coils?

Okay, so answering my own question here.....

I did a little more research on the web and then went to one of my local brick-and-mortar vape shops. As much as they wanted to replace my entire setup and sell me RBA, mod, new batteries, etc., they were straightforward about the fact that I CAN use an appropriately coiled RBA -- even a full-size one -- with my current battery/mod configurations.

They had the Tobeco Kayfun Lite clone in stock, and it came pre-built with a 2.0 Ohm coil. So I went for it, and I LOVE it.

With the epipe mod, it makes for a compact, rugged, pocket-friendly rig....

With the Ego Upgrade, it's a little top-heavy but hits very nice at 3.3v constant voltage...

I'll eventually go for a larger mechanical mod, but already this is revolutionary for me. I can't wait to build my first coil!
