Ok, so my new vape and everything else I need is all here. My setup: smok Magneto v2/UD IGO-W3/VTC4

I like the new emblem on the firing button

My first attempt at building a coil didn't go so well, but I was trying to be fancy (or something). I built a dual-coil nano dragon that glowed nicely, but wasn't making much vapor at all. I eventually gave up on it and built a new dual-coil - 24ga kanthal, 9 wraps around 5/64" screwdriver, 0.38Ω. I pulled the wick through the coils this time, as opposed to around them on the dragon build. I folded one end of each wick over the center post, and the other end of each just touched the deck. My camera wasn't cooperating at the time, so no pictures. This worked much better, but after vaping on it for a day I decided I could do better. The coils fired well, but the flavor was bland and I still wasn't happy with the wicking.

I tried again. This time with the same wire and wraps, but up to 7/64 screwdriver and a dual-vertical setup....and my camera is being difficult again. BRB.

All right. Got that straightened out. So the 3rd setup, coming in at 0.32Ω:

Holy cow! Suddenly the vapor doubled (at least) and the flavor is way, way better. I placed the coils lower this time, so that they're directly in front of the air holes. Now, This is a really inexpensive RDA. It works fine, but I didn't like how they drilled the air holes. In quad-coil configuration, there is 1 large adjustable hole for each coil, but in dual-coil config., there are 2 smaller holes for each coil. Why would you drill smaller holes on an adjustable-airflow device? If I want smaller, I'll just turn the cap. Duh.

So I drilled the centers out. It's not beautiful, but it functions properly. I'm not in it for show, anyway, and stainless steel is a pain-in-the-rear to drill.

(BTW, this photo made me change my mind about wiping my vape with tissues. I couldn't see those fiber remnants at all until the flash brought them out.)

Bingo. I love it. $49 mod, $17 RDA, and $15 for each battery. For me, that's the right price, and I bought all authentic parts. I refuse to support some Chinese company while the designer of an orignal product gets nothing for their research & development. F that.

I think I'll be sticking with this setup for a while. Time to try some new flavors...

Air flow is where your issue is from what i read. Vertical coil or horizontal it all depends on how the air hits the coil. I like horizontal builds because if you wick it properly on and RDA you can adjust your airholes right on it and draw the air up underneath the coil giving you that flavor and allowing more vapor to be drawn out. It depends on the RDA your using because airflow differs with every design. Your IGO allows you to do exactly what i was saying and like your picture showed place the airhole right on the coil. Also remember the more air drawn into the air holes = less flavor. Just keep building and trying different set ups. The beauty of RDA's is you can build it to fit your preferred vaping style. Good Job!!!
