I just got my first Rebuildable, a Noble 1 hybrid. My only experience is a protank 2 with rebuilt coils for the past three weeks. It arrived wicked up and ready to go, so I put in some juice, fired it, no hot spots. I hit it for the first time and coughed like I just smoked a pack at once. Been trying to figure out the right draw, but it still hits like a locomotive.
Is there such a thing as too much vape?

be sure your air hole is aligned with your coil, check the wicking to ensure your wick isn't lagging; it could fire fine for a second or 2, but if your wick isn't keeping up, it will dry out and you will encounter hot legs/hot hit as you're taking a drag. and if these steps don't help, it could possibly be that your nicotine level may need to be Lowered in your juice. hope this helps, or at least gets you pointed in the right direction, that is far too nice a mod/Genny to have bad experiences on :D

Mk13, thank you for the reply. Wick hole is lined up. I'm taking super short drags, about a second, and I dropped to 12mg nicotine from my normal 18mg I was running in the protank.

Do genesis tanks have a smokier taste than protanks in general because of the wick oxidation, or is the flavor normally fairly consistent with other types of atomizers? Do drippers have a slight smoky taste to them?

you are supposed to check for hotspots on a dry wick....
you may be tasting a small short, hence the harshness.

but yes, most pre made wicks are poop... just like stated by Mitey F.

Alright. Did my first coil using 32ga kanthal (only wire I have for now, from recoiling protanks) and metered at 2.0 ohms, not as much vapor, but much smoother. I'll get some 30ga and 28ga on order and see how it goes as I work my way down to the sweet spot.

Thanks all for the assistance, and definitely thanks to xx for the Noble, wick, patience and help.
