I'm 26 been smoking for 7 years have never quit for more than a month at a time. I ordered the starter kit from Smokeless image, 2 batteries 5 cartos. I got one 65mm and one 78mm battery. I also ordered 5 more cartos and 30ml of juice. Do you think this will be enough to supplement my pack a day habit? I'm not to worried about when I'm home but when I go out, I want to make sure I have enough juice/battery to last all night. I think I may get another battery at least but ten cartos should be enough to start out with right? They should be arriving any day now, having my farewell time with analogues trying to focus on all the negatives of them (smell, going outside etc.). In a few days I plan to throw out my ashtrays wash my clothes and dump my lighters, save for one pack tucked safely away somewhere out of sight just in case. I can't wait!

Welcome to ECF Prater.
When you get 5 posts you will be able to post elsewhere.
In the mean time, which setup did you get? What type of cartos?
The type of batteries will determine how long they last, 100mAh = to about 1 hour of charge.
I usually get 1-2 weeks out of 1 carto, Smoktech Dual Coils, but ymmv.
Ask questions, we love to help new members here.

I have a pair of volt batteries too. I really like their cartos.

I get about 4 - 6 hours with two volt batteries so I wouldn't say they lasted all night. You might want to get a pcc for them if you want a longer run time.

30ml lasts me about a month for what would be around a pack a day habit but I rolled my own so I can't be too sure about that. Good enough amount of liquid for the volt anyway, and you should get a decent idea of how much you vape in a day.

Good luck my man!

Welcome Prater! So glad to see a younger person making the switch to a much healthier choice. I think you'll find that 30ml is a lot more juice than what you think it is right now. You may be as lucky as I and many others here that were able to quit the "stinkys" as soon as we started vaping. Just be patient and give it a chance. We can help with any "bump" that you might have along the way. Once you start be sure to drink plenty of water. I can't stress that enough. Vaping dehydrates you. Good luck!

30ml of juice is about a 7-8 day supply for me, and many others it would be less.
Always keep a month's worth of juice on hand. If you are ordering juice from smaller boutique vendors, they usually mix on demand, so steeping for a couple of weeks, only brings out more flavor!

I'm staring at about 200ml of juice right now.. Besides, one flavor just doesn't fit all moods! :)

Vape On!

Welcome. As a new vapor, I know tat excitement. Initially, it was difficult to gauge how much juice I needed because I was constantly vaping (especially in the car, bathroom, wherever I was banned from smoking). Now that couple of months has passed, I am going through 10 to 12 ml a week. Keep at it and one warning, don't go too crazy with juices ( you will be tempted...now I have over 200 ml of juice in stock). And read some juice reviews, it will give you some ideas.

A PCC is on my wish list when I can afford it, for now I plan on keeping a few cartos and both batteries on me, I can charge one in the car while I use the other. I ordered 18mg juice and cartos, now I'm worried after reading peoples stories that this won't be strong enough. I smoke about a pack a day of Camel Crush. About is very relative because it depends on my activity level, the more I'm out and about the more I smoke, staying home all day I only have about 10 a day when its cold like it is now. I got the Desert Joe flavor because I want something that will taste "smokey" like the Camels I'm used to. My only real fear is running out of juice/cartos and resorting to analogs until I can get some in, so I want to be sure to restock my supply before it runs dry.

You might want to look into DIY your juices, a lot cheaper and I usually have enough stuff to mix up before I get close to running out. I just ordered enough nic juice to last a while, and I can get VG at walmart, even if I have to vape unflavored, but then I can always use food flavorings from anywhere in a pinch.

Good job Prater! Easier to make the change now then to wait till you've been smoking 38 years like I did! But I have to say, the change wasn't the least bit hard for me.

You've come to the right place for support and help. But a lot of it will depend on your vaping habits. It won't take long to figure it all out.

Happy vaping!

Thank goodness! I have no idea WHERE to start!!! With so many brands out there...how to choose? I smoke about a pack a day with some chain smoking thrown in when I'm working on the computer! Any direction would be greatly appreciated....especially by my kids!

TIA!!

I'd say you need to start with a fat batt model, like an eGo or Riva 510. Check Liberty-Flights, and don't forget to click the discount button at the top of LF's page. I'd go with a cartomizer kit. You'll also need liquids and spare cartos. The eGo and Riva are both 510 threaded, so anything 510 will work. I like liquid from Vermillion River and My Freedom Smokes, although there are many sources, and lots of people like liquids from other vendors. There are just to many vendors to try them all.

Oh yeah... the computer smoke time was always a biggie for me. And now it's when I vape the most.

Just start reading threads here in the New Member section. There's sooooo many different types of pv's and sooooo many different opinions. What works for me might not for you. The first kit is usually the biggest step and the biggest gamble. I was lucky and got the right thing for me right off the bat. I love my eGo and though I also have a Go-Go, which lots of people love, the eGo is my choice. Some people don't like them. It's all a matter of taste.

The best thing you can do is just grab a kit and get started! From there it's all a learning curve.

Have to agree with the eGo as a choice for you if you are a pack a day smoker. A tiny battery like you got will stay on a charger longer than are vaping which will be a deterrent for completely switching over to vaping.

An eGo is about as thick as a Sharpie and doesn't look like a cigarette.

Usually when you're starting out you want something that looks and tastes like a tobacco cigarette. That sort of changes after a little bit. One thing I can tell you though is stay far away from the Blu. They suck, and the battery life sucks. They are more a fashion statement for hipsters than a practical personal vaper. If a Blu were a car you would have to pull over to get gas every 2 or 3 blocks.

The size only takes a little bit of getting used to. If you bum an analog off someone (if you smoke 'regular' cigs) a 100, or a wide, or skinny ones always feel strange. But after smoking a pack of the different sized cigs they feel normal to you. The same goes with a PV.

Its funny, now that I know my Volt is in the mail I'm getting really annoyed smoking analogs while I wait for it. Everytime I put on my "smoking jacket" to go outside I'm irritated by the smell, the whole act of smoking an analog is annoying me alot today. For seven years it hasn't bothered me one bit but I guess knowing I have a much better option just a day away my mind has already moved past analogs. I can't wait to be able to grab a quick puff on my couch instead of suiting up to go outside in the cold, no washing my hands constantly or running to the store when I see my pack is getting low. Man I can't wait to vape. Tomorrow can't come soon enough!

Hi Prater,

At your age and time of smoking I am very proud of you to read that you looking into giving up smoking at this stage of your life. I have been smoking for 20+ years and I just turned 41. I didnt have any smoking symptoms yet (smokers cough, wheezing, bronchitis) or so I told myself while I smoked. The only reason I decided I needed to quit was because I was watching people I loved around me dying or very ill from diseases doctors said were caused by smoking. I was still in denial that those issues were affecting me. At 41 I honestly did realise that after a heavy day smoking usually friday nights when I had drinks with my freinds I did go to bed with a wheeze. I also suffered terribly from ear infections that I never guessed were due to smoking. I am now only 2 months smoke free and no longer wheeze at bed time and since then my ear that was affected mostly does not ache or ring and I can hear better from it. I know Im raving but honestly you are never too young to quit. Its usually the youngest dont have symptoms to consider its affecting their health. I commend you for kicking the habit early before you are plagued by awful embarrassing symptoms. Any help or advice you need please post, there are many people here who are more than willing to share thier stories or advice. Also please read the success stories on this forum. The success stories kept me focused in weak moments. Welcome to ECF

If you spend a lot of time at the comp, you may want to check out a passthough. I have an eGo passthough (oh yeah, just got another from a friend, so I have 2, a 650mAh and a 900mAh) and you can get the 650 here :

eGo 510 650mAh USB Passthrough Battery

It's $16.99 but that doesn't include any cartos or juice, but with each 5-pack of cartos you get a free 5ml bottle of juice. Just a thought.

Hi Prater, Definatly get an extra battery or 2. You must have one charging while you are using the other 1, having 2 dead batteries is like having no ciggs at all. I'd say 1 carto will last you 1 day, so at the start you will have 10 days worth, once you have 5 emptys fill them with your juice, i'd say each one will take about 1 ml, so you will have about 30 days worth with your juice. For me if there were analogs in my reach, i smoked them, so when you run out of them, just don't buy more, always puff on your PV when you get a craving and you will see you don't need to rush off to the shop for cigs.
