first things to do with a ego-t

Hi,

so i ordered a ego-t and i should be getting it today.
But after going on the forum on different threads, im all mixed up as to what i should do before my first use.

i saw somewhere that i should clean the primer from my attys by blowing in it ...from what end should i blow in it?

and some people also said to charge the battery and some others said to use it right away....

so now...im all mixed up....any help ?

To blow the primer out, blow into the tank end into a paper towel or something at the connector end.

Batteries typically come about 50% charged. Use it or charge it, shouldn't matter either way.

I usually stick the empty tank into the atty and give it a 360 twist, then pull it out and fill it, others do differently.

There is a couple of day's worth of reading you could do here on the Ts, with many different opinions about ongoing use and maintenance. Do what you think is best. Enjoy.

HAHA yes you are right...there is a lot of different opinion here....i got all mixed up trying to read too much off em lol...but i will surely give your tips a try thank you very much!

Hey Ti,
I have been using my Ego T for a week now. I like it very much, but she isn't a easy date. She will need a little maintenance more than likely.
1. Hopefully your tanks have the silicone refill caps and not the hard plastic ones. This seems to be a source for leaks and flooding. Mine are silicone and have had no leaks/flooding whatsoever!
2. The wick is the only thing i've had to mess with since recieving my ego t. Juice was not wicking fast enough for it to perform properly. I had to lower the wick as far as i could without it falling out of the needle plate. Has performed great since this. I followed Vicky's video on youtube on "how i clean my ego-t atty" to remove the needleplate and adjusted the wick like that. A flat screwdriver works great for removing the plate. Haven't had Hemo's since to 70's...lol.
I highly recommend the LR attys if you stay with the tank set up. They Rock!!!!!!

read from some post before, they mentioned about vape for like an hour or less then charge it for 8 hours.. its to extend the battery life especially for new battery.. im not sure.. anyone can correct me if its wrong..

Lithium batteries are not too picky about how you charge them. A lot of people are still hung up on how finicky the old Ni-Ca batteries were. To get the best life span from those, you had to drain them almost completely then charge for a full 8 hours. Lithium batteries don't have the "charge memory" problems like that. When I got my ego-t I charged it fully just so I didn't get interrupted by a dead battery 2 hours into testing it out.
As for the primer in the atties, run the hot water through it from the battery end, then blow it out until it's dry. By the time the battery is charged, the atty is ready to go. I do recommend priming the atty for that first use. Use a blunt syringe to drip a drop of your juice of choice straight down the middle of the center pin.
On the tanks, some say twist, some say don't... Well every tank I've twisted, leaked bad. I haven't found a tank yet that will never leak, but it is to what degree and under what circumstances. The silicone caps do help but not all of them work with a true Joye atty and tank. If you are using the hard caps, after the first use you can take the cap off and use a pair of tweezers or needle-nose pliers to carefully twist and remove the "hanging chad" from the puncture. I found it gets in the way of the wicking some.
If by chance the SR atties are not enough of a kick for you, LR are AWESOME. But beware of cheap knock-offs. I fell for $6 LR's and got about one week of good use out of 4 of them. Two months later, my true ego atties still fire like a champ.

Glad I found this thread didn't wanna start a new one.

So I just got my RIVA 510 in the mail today. I charged it immediately without using it and I'm about to hit the 8 hr. point that LF recommends. Then take it of the charger, use it for 20 mins. Charge for another hour and it's good to go according to the directions.

I'm planning on strictly dripping for now so does anyone have more info or experience with a brand new RIVA on how to prime this bad boy up just right? Any tips or tricks to help the longevity from the start other then basic atty/ battery cleaning? I wanna treat my RIVA right =)

I just put a trick up on the "tips and tricks" board (go back one) which you may find useful if you wanna drip with your 510- see the "atty hat" filter mod for new 510 atties- I've been using this mod for the last couple of weeks and its great Good luck with your new 510!

If you notice that you are getting dry hits every few puffs, your wick needs to get a few holes on the side with a thin needle. This makes the juice go down faster down the hole.

I was getting dry hits, then i found a needle and poked at the sides and made about 3 holes (couldnt see the holes, they are all too small to see, all 3 holes i made on the sides and kind of wriggled around the needle as to "make room" for the juice to flow better down the wick.


This is for my ego-T with a LR type B atty from vaperite.

Now that i have done this, I can assure you that almost every single ego-T atty will most likely need some wick adjustment, either up or down (watch vicky's video from cignot on youtube) or some side space for the juice to go down (its like pushing the wick down but not risking as much IMO since if the wick does go down too far it may have to be pulled up again or you may leak)
