Hey all. I got my Ti wire in the other day with my Istick and wanna try out the Ti TC mode. Now ive done a few Ni200 builds succesfully and have read up a bit on Ti vaping. I know most people are worried about Ti Oxide but Ive heard of people turning VW down to 7W or so, going into a dark room and checking their coils are glowing from the inside out by the first teency sign of a glow. I would like to build contact coils as thats what ive built in the past, so I just wondered if this method was safe? Im in a hotel and the bathroom gets almost darkroom black, so i would be able to see the first signs of heating/hot spots. also any other info to help on my first Ti build would be appreciated. its 26 AWG Ti1

Have done it that way and it's fine. Helps with tweaking out hot spots and compressing. Will take a while to start seeing anything, depending on your pulse technique. As long as you don't see a white coating on your coil when you're done you should be good to go...that's the titanium oxide that people are referring to.

Happy vaping.

All I build is complex titanium coils and I always space them. Whenever I space them I don't even need to check for hot spots because out of the 300 plus TI builds I've done only one or two had a tiny hot spot. It's really easy to space the coils, you can even use a 8/32 screw and just unscrew after you wrap it. Whatever you decide to do let us know how it works out. Good luck!!!

thanks all! things have been a bit crazy between my car wanting to die and staying at the hotel, I havent had much of a chance to try the TI build yet. but its my last couple weeks as a resident at the Days Inn, My mom and I finally found a house for rent! on top of that her doctor gave us some great news, from the looks of things her lukemia wont be coming back anytime soon! hooray! every time she went in for a check up she was a ball of nerves, so hopefully this will help keep her chillaxed when she's gotta do the usual check in/blood test.

That's awesome news about your mom and the house you found for rent. I've been through similar issues with my mom when she got diagnosed with breast cancer at age 32. It's tough because all you can do is be there for them and try to help as much as possible. But now she has been in remission for 7 years and life is much smoother. Going to get her blood tests and exams still stirs up old nerves but it's better than it was. Just keep your head up and you'll get through it it and atleast you aren't smoking analogs anymore. With the ti you will definitely see the ti dioxide so just keep your eyes open for it. I did the same thing as you when I first started building with titanium. It's still my favorite TC vaping wire with SS in second place.

Im glad it gets better, and Im deff glad your moms has stayed in remission! My Mom had her last round of chemo in the beginning of january last year. shortly after she was done with that she got a staph infection in her pikk line, (basically an IV that goes straight to the heart so the drugs dont destroy her veins) they induced a coma and had her on a ventilator (the one with the tube down the throat, not the mask. pretty sure thats what its called) for a month before she turned around. after that tho doc told her she was in remission. its been about 13 months now, and I dont think she's going anywhere anytime soon! that month in the hospital was a rough one tho, a couple docs are saying I may have ended up with some PTSD but it could be from a couple of other things from back when. anyway Im going to give the Ti wire a shot today! Im not hurtin too bad and dont have any plans so todays the day! hehe Im actually kinda excited
