I ordered a 901 kit from saveasmoker that should here today. I am not the smoker, my wife is. She won't do anything to try and quit without some nudging and help from me so I read through all the forums, ordered it, showed her ratindahat's videos, etc. She's a little skeptical, but it seems like she will give it a shot.

I ordered 10 prefilled carts, 5 with tobacco, 5 with marlboro to start with. She is a 1 pack a day Marbolo Light smoker for like 30 yrs now. We live in FL.

Any setup or preping advice I might give her? She's a little psyched because if this works she will be allowed to smoke (vape) in bed (that's how I got her interested BTW.)

She told me after I ordered that she might be interested in clove taste if that exists. Does it and is it any good? Where to get it? Also, any suggestions for flavors to match analog tastes? (I was thinking 555, virginia, maybe RY4 (how's this one?))

Also, thanks for the comprehensive information on here..

Manual USB passthrough should be one on the list to get if she likes it. Until she starts and tries it. I would keep the cost down.

Tobacco juice types...

RY4- kind of a caramel tasting tobacco... really good

555- More of a rich nutty tobacco flavor.. great too. LOL

Hilton- Seems like a mix between RY4 and 555 to me. So best of both worlds

Camel- not sure.

Marbro- regular tobacco flavoring. Once you start vaping the other flavors really taste better than plain tobacco.

Kent- not sure but others have liked it and it has good reviews.

Virgina- Again has some good reviews but not the hot popular one.

Tennesee cured from Johnson Creek- great sweet rich tobacco flavor

Turkish- stronger tobacco flavor

Man, I really enjoy vaping and trying new flavors. Didn't really like that with regular smoking and smoked the same Mrble lights for 20 years.

I read for the first time today that somebody cleaned their atty before use. I would never do that, just in case I ruin it. They are perishable and you need to make sure you get a nice supply of them. The only reason, that I could think of, that somebody would clean the atomizer first is because of that nasty primer taste that we all experience with a new atty. Batteries are also another weak link. They just don't seem to last. A manual passthrough might also help keep her off the ciggys. The ones without the built in battery will run at 5v. and provide a better experience as opposed to batteries that run at 3.7v. Hope this helps.

Ok she tried it. Not rave reviews at first. She says it "tastes like lidocaine." LOL, whatever.

Is there some initial tastes that it comes with due to primer or something? I tasted it myself and didn't notice the taste so much, but there was a hint of medicated taste. However, I did taste the actual intended taste come thru a little (tobacco taste.)

Anyhow, I'm going to go order some new flavors. She still likes that fact that she can do it in bed and I won't care so she may use it tonight. We're using the 18mg medium nicotine level.

ive been smoke free for 48 hours. try some of the fruity flavors . my favorite thing about this so far is you can vape something that tastes way better then a cigarette to get your nicotine . check out nuvape dot com you can get 3ml sample bottles for like $2 with free shipping. find a few flavors she really likes and she will come around.

Ok, as I thought, she loved the fact that she could do it in bed. She just passed out (long day, she didn't get much sleep yesterday.) However, she was getting a strong buzz after like 7 drags in a 1 hour period. I was wondering if I should go down to 11 or to 6mg. I have a feeling that she will be taking frequent drags.

Also, are there anymore US sellers that have small samples other than nuvape. I was looking at eliquidplanet because it has an insane variety, but they are $10 a pop. Nuvape looked good, but I she told me she wanted 555, RY, cinnamon, and clove and eliquid seems to be the only one with those and US.

This is very exciting..she's already beginning to like them even with the nasty primer taste.

Rocky Mountain's smallest bottle is 15ml but they do have free shipping which is a big savings:

Rocky Mountain Vapor you have reached the mountain top of electronic cigarettes! : Atomizers

I am at day 3 so still new myself. Personally I didn't like the prefilled carts that came with mine, thought they were down right nasty tasting. Thankfully I had some unfilled one's and used a cherry flavor.
I had a bit of primer taste to begin with but it was gone pretty quick and teh cherry helped with that a bit also.
I saw good prophets have some small 3ml size samples @ 3.00 but not a huge variety yet. I'm probley gonna buy quite a few once he gets a few more flavors in because I want to try all the fruit flavors and at that price , if I don't like it I won't feel bad tossing it.

Thank you a lot for this list, D05GTO. Myself, I'm into menthol and coffee, but since I'm passing all the goodies about e-cigs on to every smoker I know, I want to know what kinds of "tobacco" flavors to recommend, or just get one nice flavor for when I'm sharing with someone who wants to try -- and no one else I know smokes menthol. This is a cool list; I like your descriptions.

I am brand new to vaping, as of two days ago, and I sure love it too. Isn't it funny, we were "smoking more and enjoying it less" and now we get to "smoke more and enjoy it more" !! (Someone else here said that first, not me...)

Ok. Got the new flavors. She likes it a lot better. I also followed someone's advice about putting one drop on the atomizer to help get rid of the primer taste (worked well, thanks.)

However, she's not really going for it. She might be one of those that fall into the category of not really wanting to let analogs go.

When I asked her to compare the two she said that the analogs were full and rich and the ecig was thin and weak. I believe she was referring to the throat hit but she said it wasn't that so who knows...

I was trying to figure out if I was doing something wrong with the ecig and for a little while she said it tasted like burnt paper. It turned out I didn't have enough liquid and the atty was probably burning up the polyfill. I fixed that, but that's when I get the thin and weak comment.

She is using it more and more, and she hasn't tried all the flavors yet, just malbro, cigar and clove. Clove is the best of those 3, but I think I need something with a stronger taste (I have more she hasn't tried.) I don't think nicotine mg is the reason because she's on 11mg now and was 16mg and that got her lightheaded.

I guess the good news is that she is using it slightly more and more everyday, but she doesn't seem willing to ever ditch analogs completely. She uses it on occasions where it's not appropriate to light up such as in the bedroom, in the car with young kids, inside different venues (like roller skating, movies, etc.) Any ideas?

Here's the info:

PV: DSE901
Tried: 16mg malbro, 16mg cigar, 11mg clove
have and not tried: 555, RY4, Cinnamon (11mg)

Just keep encouraging her and give her time, My wife and I both got PV's about the same time, I had my last analog after the first week and my wife took 2 weeks, the analogs start to taste really bad after a while. As suggested earlier, get her some sweet flavors, I too thought I wanted the tobacco taste, turns out I much prefer banana creme :D

In my short experience with e-cigs I have learned that if someone doesn't want to stop smoking analogs then they won't.

I have passed mine off to a few friends and all insist on continuing the habit.
Same with me, but I quit by accident. I think you get it pretty quickly and prefer it or you don't.
