Well I've done it. Jumped in with both feet and built my first coil(s). I've built a dual coil dripper on a patriot clone using 28awg on 2mm drill bit, 7 wraps each. The ohm rating came out at 0.7 and wow what a difference coming from an iclear30 2.1omn tank to this, it's amazing cloud and throat it.
the only problem I seem to have hit was tightening the coil into the post holes. The first one tightened ok but the second just kept cutting the kanthal forcing me to wrap another coil, got it on the third attempt. Maybe a burr on the screw? Or just ham fisted?
Everythings so much smaller doing it in person compared to youtube videos, so must get some practice.
ps the dripper is going to be a juice tester, I have rocket v1 which intend to use for my all day vapes.:vapor:

This is a problem with a lot of posts. It is a problem more often on a clone.

It is caused by the depth of the screw holes in the post. If it goes below the hole for the wire it is like a pair of scissors when you tighten the screw down. If the screw hole stops at the hole then when you tighten it it will not cut the wire.

The only thing you can do is be very careful and get the screw tight enough for good contact and not so tight it cuts the wire. It gets easier with time to tell how tight that is. At the start I cut wires and had builds where the resistance varied. Even now I have some attys that I occasionally cut the wire on.
