Just received my new kgo , how long do I charge the battery for the first time ? Until the light turns green ? Or like the instructions say for eight hours ? Thought I read somewhere not to do the 8 hours , but now i cant find that post.
Hi kbalz,
I just got my first kgo a couple days ago and they do come partly charged so you can use it right away. I put the other one on the charger and it only took a couple hours. Yes when the light turns green it's fully charged and should be taken off the charger right away.
When the light first turns green, you will notice that it still flashes red every 10 - 15 seconds for a few minutes. Wait until it no longer flashes red and you are good to go.
Most people recommend NOT using a battery as soon as you take it off the charger. It's better to let it sit for a few minutes to allow any heat to dissipate.
Ignore the instructions. They are for the older batts. Charge 1 batt until green and the remaining batt should be 50% charged so you can vape on it. Don't leave the batts charging unattended as ALL batt chargers have a shutoff chip in them. On the very rare occasion, if this chip fails, the batt will continue to charge, overheat and melt/ explode. 6 weeks ago charging 18650 batts the chip on my charger failed. Thankfully I never leave them unattended and I had received a new and higher quality batt charger for Xmas. A good idea, next time you order, to purchase a spare batt charger as pretty well most of the chargers included in starter kits regardless of the PV brand are absolute crap.

just got these last week. tried to charge until light turned green which only took a little while and the batt died out within two hours. put it back on for about 6 hours and they have both been lasting all day with just a 3 hour charge at night now
I guess they are never going to reprint those instructions but I guess they are not in their language so they don't know what they are telling us anyway! Lol
