Hey Everyone,

I picked up a Nemesis Clone and Atty clone (not sure what it is) from a convention last weekend. I first purchased the dripper for my MVP and had someone from the convention build the coil to work with it. Well to say the least the vapor production was less than desirable. That led me to purchasing the Nemesis clone. It took a bit but the clouds are much much better! I'm going to start ordering supplies to rebuild when I need it and I need some help getting the right stuff.

The coil he built was above 1.2 ohms...actually I think it was exactly 1.2 when a guy at another stand tested it. I tried out many different mods at the convention and the lower "sub ohm" builds where WAY to hot for my taste. I am liking the current build, but I would like to get a little more vapor. The gauge wire he used I believe was 28g. I'm not 100% on that but he did say that it HAD to be over a certain gauge/ohms to work with the MVP. At any rate I really need some help building a safe, cool, relatively easy coil build using cotton. Here are some picks of the mod. I dont have it with me now but I will post some picks of the build he did later.

That's a helios RDA.

What you're gonna need...
1- knowledge and understanding of ohms-law and how it relates to vaping
2- multi-meter
3- 28g kanthal wire
4- organic cotton
5- Jig (something to wrap the coil on.. ie.. 1/16", 5/64"drill bit, etc)
6- Tourch
7- tweezers
8- scissors
9- micro-screwdrivers

Watch plenty of youtube video's and ask questions here.

Plenty of YouTube videos out there on building coils. Practice practice practice. And always remember safety. Your mvp has built in circuit protection, but it's always good to check your ohms. Your mvp will actually fire down to .8 (at least mine does). No idea why though, it has a 3amp limit, so that is over that.

If you're looking for more vapor the solution might be as simple as just boring out your air holes a bit larger on your rda. More airflow = more vapor. Good luck

One more question / thing to know. What battery are you using?

(I added 10)
thats a good list.

my thoughts:
2 should be a digital multi-meter. you can also just get an ohm-meter - amazon/ebay/fasttech or your local vape shop probably has some, provided you have a local vape shop :)
28ga wire is pretty standard for .8-1.8 ohm builds i think. I usually build around 1.4 single coil or .5-.8 dual coil. both usually using 5/64 drill bit or equivalent.
5 get a drill bit set if you don't already have one. It doesn't have to be huge, just a small kit with a range of bits. mine goes from1/16-3/8 with 11 bits. you could use a micro screwdriver set instead, just know what the shaft diameter is on them - i think fasttech has one.
they sell actual coiling jigs, but i'll never buy one - its just one more screw to mess with.
6 I used to torch my coils, but i find tightening them down and then pinching the wraps with tweezers right on the atty is less work.
7 they have ceramic tweezers, this makes work a lot easier. check ebay/amazon/fasttech

when i build, I do it on an apv. then i can set the coils and check the resistance on a regulated device before putting it on a mechanical (like your nemesis). if it shorts on an apv, the apv will tell you.. if it shorts on the neme, you may be picking battery pieces out of your face...

I like my Helios. The dual center post (two holes in the possitive post) makes multi coil builds a lot easier.

I enthusiastically agree! I have 2 of the FT helios clones, and they're great! LOVE the build deck.

xklipx : Your avatar rules, man. Looks like these guys have already sorted you out...I find a nice build is a simple 8-wrap 28g on 3/32". Dual on the helios gets you around 0.8Ω (give or take...my leg lengths are a bit long to center the coils nicely, so it comes in a bit higher), which is a pleasant vape.

When I first started RDA's, I didn't use enough wick in the coil, which made them flood with juice producing a really wet harsh vape...using a little more fixed that.

Also look up "iteo wicking"...basically you wet down your cotton with VG and roll it up into a dense rope before putting it in the coil. I've had no wicking issues since I've switched to this method...

Yeah the guy said it would be easier to build off the Helios than the other options he had. I am also looking into finding a rebuildable tank with similar user friendliness in mind.

I have two of these, really easy to build. Smok Tech Pyrex RSST - RTD vapor

I also ordered two of these to reduce the chamber size. Works well to improve the flavor and vapor for a single coil build. RSST/TCI

Also alot of shady manufacturers take sub-par batteries and re wrap them to look like Sony batteries.
The price you got them at is suspect to me, but most things are.

If they look like the fakes treat them as 10a drain rate batteries, because honestly they could be anything.
I think I'm good... Y'all be the judge.
