Hello Everyone!
My background in a nutshell: I'm new to vaping. I've now been vaping for 1 month now and so far it has been great (i quit smoking altogether coming from 35+ sigarettes a day). In the beginning it was very fiddly with the settings, not getting the flavour/hit i wanted, but the last 2 weeks i think i found the sweet spot for me. I've been using my Presa TC75W Mod together with my Nautilus Mini Clearomizer.
The only thing i found lacking the last couple of weeks was the nicotine level and ability to vape High VG liquids. I've been using 6mg's but for me it was just a bit too low. It was also annoying at work that i required much more time compared to smoking to feel 'fulfilled'.
So i decided to go with a higher dosage of nicotine: 12mg's and ordered a couple of flavours i know i like. But since i was reading up on the whole TC hype and what it could bring to the table, i thought, why not order a new clearomizer that is also capable of TC mode.
So i went ahead and bought the Kangertech Subtank Mini (tanktop) together with some Ni200 coils.
Sidenote: i'm not really interested in the whole sub-ohming business. But i thought it would not hurt to order this tank since i was only gonna use it in TC mode anyway. And the way i understand it/imagined it, it would give me just the 'same' experience as the nautilus mini but it would be easier to get adjusted to. And also the ability to vape High VG liquids.
I say 'same' because i understand that no 2 tanks are alike.
Now i'm on my way home. A few bottles delicious flavours with 12mg Nicotine strength and a brand new tank that would hopefully give me an easier experience vaping. I could not wait to try it out. Untill i actually did...
Here are the steps i took:
1) Primed the Coil
2) Screwed in the Ni200 Coil. (0,15 ohm)
3) Filled up the tank (70% VG) and let it sit for another 15-20 minutes untill i was sure there were no air bubbles popping up anymore.
4) Started my Presa TC75W and set it to TC Ni Mode.
5) Navigated to the Ohm symbol and locked it.
6) Set the wattage to 20W to start with.
7) Set the temperature to 220C (10C increments are used on the device)
8) Tried my first TC vape.
Not what i expected... No flavour and almost no smoke. Also the subtank mini has a waaaay to airy draw, even when almost shutting down the vent. So i tried to up the temperature/wattage bit by bit. Hopefully this works!
Actually the experience only got worse and worse... Little smoke and no flavour at all. In the end i was left fulfilled nicotine wise, but my throat was irritated because of what felt like 'dry' hits and my motivation down the drain.
Now i don't actually know what to do. Did i just buy my first poisoned apple (the tank)? Is it the liquid? Did i buy too high of a nicotine level? Did i configure the device incorrectly? I did try the same liquid on the nautilus mini and at least there i get some flavour...
One thing i did notice though is that even though i locked the resistance, it appears to be still changing when i vape in TC mode. Also, when I chain vape a couple of times the device goes into 'Temp Protection' which does not sound good to me. The device actually gets pretty warm and so does the tank.
Might this be the reason of my let down first TC vape?
But how do i fix it? That's why i'm turning to you guys, might you have any idea what i did wrong?
Thanks a lot, please ask if u require more information and sorry for the wall of text in advance! I do like to type.
