Hi Everyone

It's nice to formally sign on here after a few days of frantically researching vaping gear…there is so much to learn, and such helpful folks.

I've been smoking for over 20 years…and hoping to wean myself off cigarettes. Living in Asia where vaping is looked at with much suspicion.

After much research, I went ahead and ordered the following gear:

Before I begin, let me say that I was all set on buying all my stuff from Provari. The plan was to pay with my credit card and have the stuff shipped to a friend in the US, who would carry it to me on her next business trip. However I was informed that my part of the world apparently specialises in fraud and I would have to send them a bank transfer before they would sell to me. This was not acceptable to me….and I was wondering if this was the reply I might receive from everyone…but thankfully the very next website I visited welcomed me and said….sure, we can allow you to do that. Looking back, I wonder if my poor experience with Provari was actually a blessing….we shall see.

Here's what I ordered:

1. E-Leaf i30
2. MVP 3.0 Pro
3. 2 Nautilus Tanks with 1.8 ohm BVC coils
4. An assortment of 65%PG-35%VG e-liquids...both 12 and 18 mg nicotine levels.

The plan is to start off with this kit and see how it goes for about 3 months.

Thereafter, I might get myself a Kanger Nano that allows sub ohm vaping, lower my nic levels to 6mg and a 20%PG-80%VG ratio.

Did I get the right gear…and does this plan work? I wish I had the luxury of researching more but time was of the essence so I hope Im not going to regret any purchase I made.

Thanks for reading.

Hello and welcome to the forum @Cumulo Vapus. Glad to have you here!:)

You did great! I often recommend an iStick 30 watt Aspire Mini/Full sized Nautllus. And the MVP is a solid mod. I have the earlier versions of the iStick & MVP and a couple of full sized Nautilus.

Couple of videos below.

Have you thought ahead to when you have to replenish your eliquid? How easy is it to get in your country or import it? Is vaping banned by your government?

Did you get any coils? Not sure how hard it is to get replacement coils wherever you are. If you haven't you may want to look into a rebuildable tank.

Unfortunately, most of the rebuildable tanks are geared more towards cloud chasers than say people that use Nautilus mini's for tootle puffing.

Most people change coils about once a week I think. When I was buying pre-made coils, I could last more than 3 days though. If you haven't bought any coils yet, I'd buy probably 10-15 ahead of time. The tanks probably come with a couple of coils themselves.

I use a kayfun lite with a tight draw. I've tried 3 of the newer tanks with better airflow, but none of them get the flavor of a tank with a tight draw.

Now, that is an excellent shopping list. :)

I'm fairly sure the MVP 3 Pro allows subohm, so if you choose to try that (I would!) then all you need is the tank and coils. I'd pass on the 'nano' and just get a 'mini' subtank.

PS, as much as I like the Eleaf tanks (I use the GS tank over the Nautilus these days for ease of purchase of the coils from China) the GS isn't really any much good either subohm or using Temperature Control. Just a heads up if you hear that tank mentioned, which you probably won't... so I probably didn't need to say that. :D

For my first phase of vaping (3 mths) I want to try the regular ohms and see what I learn ….I'll give sub-ohm-ing a shot after that.

That's why I picked the mods that will allow the sub ohm experience. I still don't know if I'll like the regular clouds or the dense ones you get from sub ohm vaping…all I know is I want to stop with the cigarettes, it's just not a sustainable choice any more.

The plan is to use the MVP 3.0 Pro as a home unit….and carry the istick30 around as a portable, stealth device.

I have also got my eye on the Wismec Reauleaux DNA200….looks like a total beast…but first I must see how I go with the beginner stuff…lol.

Wow, you sure have done your homework. Starting with what you have sets you up to be successful in your mission. Sooo many folks want to skip the first steps and get right into the heavy hitting heavy duty stuff, often getting in way over their heads the first step.

With your chosen devices you have the "option" of stepping up your game in the future by simply buying a new tank. If you need to or want to, you probably won't need to but you may "want" to, perhaps just out of curiosity if nothing else. You have set yourself up for success, KUDOS to you.
Cheers.
