Hello, I just made a coil for my smoktech rda and used 32 kanthol with 7-8 wraps and came out too 2.8 ohms. I also used cotton.

Questions: I have more 32 gauge and what's a good drill bit and wraps with that wire. I like the 2.0 - 2.5 range.

Also how does this one look?

Looks good to me also, but be sure and experiment a little. Some times the differences are small but it's easy enough to try some different things to see what works best for you. Here's a couple of suggestions based on what I think I'm seeing in the picture.

1. Make the legs a little longer to get the coil out closer to the air hole. Experiment with how high the coil is... center of air hole toward bottom, toward center, and top. Also try a closer spaced coil on your next build. For the coil you have, and when you change the wick, you can pulse the coil then squeeze it together with tweezers or long nose pliers and let it cool, then repeat three or four times.

2. Try different different diameters for your coils. I really like the so called micro coil, about 1/16th inch inner diameter. There's some good info in the 'Micro Coils to increase....' and although it's got huge, there a link in the first post that shows some good pictures.

3. Try a duel wire or parallel wire coil. Just fold a piece of the 32 at the half way point and wrap both wires at the same time, side by side, as if you were wrapping one wire. Wrap as close as you can, touching if possible. A duel wire coil in the 1.4 - 1.5 ohm range performs really well imo.

Again, that's a fine looking coil and you're off to a great start. Have fun and vape on. :vapor:
