I followed a post I found on rebuilding and followed the instructions. It was very easy and lots of fun too. I decided to use kite string as my wick and it works perfectly. I can't wait to do another one!!:vapor:

Well, if nothing else, you can reel in your Nova if the wind blows it away.

Not sure of the purity of that kite string...hmmmm.

I boiled it for 20 minutes and it has no effect on the taste. Waiting on my silica wick to come in to do it again.

Could be some chems or crud in that kite string that can't be boiled out. Try looking at some of the cotton and stainless steel mesh vids too. Some do it in combination. I'll be rewicking mine soon too. Congrats!

I use 4 strands cotton crochet thread and 33 g Kanthal A1 resistance, never had a problem and it works like a charm. I do suggest cotton over other wick materials.

I don't worry about the non resistant wire, I double the legs over and twist them together.

Both of the following are very good threads to read if you want to re wick and coil your vivi nova heads. The OP in the tut one was dealing with one of the first runs on the vivi nova so a few things might look different.
