Hi, this is my first time posting on the forum. I've been lurking around and I think its time to get a mod. I have a Halo Triton with a couple of tanks but I'm looking for something better, more flavor and vapor. Im not interested in big box mods, I wanna keep it pocket sized.
The provari mini got my attention but not so much the price, any cheaper look-alike ? I tried an ego-twist but I dont want to waste money if will end up buying the better one mod later.
Also im looking in to rda's and making my own coils, (should I get a mechanic mod for that?)

Get them all!!!

Heh, no, there is no real question, since you're on the vape bandwagon, there's no telling how far you'll go. Each person is different. Just keep this in mind: for pocket size, you're probably best with what you have now. You could go with the itaste, but it's more of a replacement of what you have now, not an improvement. An EGO twist/spinner might be the next upgrade while keeping it pocket size.

Box mods would be your next step in keeping the size down. After EGO sized, your next step up would be one with a replaceable battery or a box mod like the MVP.

Mechanical mods are twice the size (thickness), and about four times the weight of an ego style. They also require a bit more work to maintain and can be dangerous if you don't know what you're doing. keep that in mind as well. However, when you get a good setup, it can be very portable and reliable.

Most mech mods, and mods above what you use lithium batteries that are quite large diameter wise. That limits it's pocketability somewhat. It will draw more attention. Me, I use two current ones ATM, a Vamo (VV/VW) and a Caravela clone(mech). I don't mind going out in public with either of them. if you go the mechanical route, be ready for tinkering, since that's what they require. Also be prepared for a lot of learning, since it can be dangerous if you don't know what you're doing. In the long run though, you will have a fairly compact vaping device. They are, however, the best way to do RDAs.

if you want something pocket friendly I would suggest a zmax mini or vamo in short mode, will give you a longer life then a twist. Batteries are replaceable/rechargeable and 18350 batteries are easy to find and only cost a couple of bucks each so you can have extra's on hand. It can also use rda's on it, you would be capped to no lower then 1.2ohm's. Which is good for someone starting out, the device will have safety features and protect's you from building error's.

Wow. Slow down. You are going after too many options. Wanting too many features/options at once is a sure way to waste money.
First of all, your "vaping" style will evolve over time. Most new people coming off analog wants something similar, but within a few weeks, they change to something totally different. (which is your case) This trend continues.
Best way to minimize the waste is to slow down and let your vaping style tell you what you "need".
If your priority is to get better flavor and vapor, focus on getting better topper. Mods will make little difference in flavor.
By the time you are settle on the topper, you would have develop your vaping routine. This will dictate type of mod you need. Once this is settled, you can get a mod that goes best with the topper.
These steps take time.
