Wow...so I thought perhaps the e-cig (excuse me, PV) was too good to be true. How wrong I was, these things are fantastic.
I purchased a lot of goods from Eastmall and took advantage of the free shipping over $200. For my boyfriend and I, got two PCC's which came with 510's, two 510 starter kits, loads of blank carts and a DSE-801 starter kit just for me. The order arrived after 10 days and everything was there and packaged well (props to Eastmall). I also ordered some sample e-liquid from Nuvape and some RY4 and Dr. Pepper from Rocky Mountain Vapor. Both came faster than my ecigs, not surprising since they weren't coming from China.
The first day was a lot of trial and error. I enjoyed the vapor production from the 801, but hated the primer taste that came out of it- made me want to puke. My boyfriend and his new 510 were best friends by the end of the day (he'd been vaping all morning and then all day at work on it) so I decided to give that one a shot.
Day two I switched to the 510 and have just been using the 801 like a pipe- holding it in my mouth and puffing in and out- works fabulously. As for the 510, it's small, the PCC is so handy at work and refilling is not difficult at all. It almost feels like a real cigarette. So much so that once I found the flavor of liquid I liked (RMV DR PEPPER = FANTASTIC!!!!) I haven't been able to put the thing down.
Back-story: I smoked 1 1/2 to 2 packs a day of menthols (most recently American Spirits) for 14 years. I've not smoked for a total of 3 months out of that time so quitting was very, very hard for me. The only effective treatment for me was Chantix, but the side effects were questionable and my insurance stopped covering it.
First day - Only smoked four analogs (WHAT?! yes, a miracle)
Second day- Two analogs (even more absurd, I never would have thought)
Third day on- NONE (even though I have four or five in a pack at home)
A couple of good things-
1. My apartment isn't smelling so much like an ashtray
2. My hands don't smell bad! (you ever accidentally get a whiff of your smoking hand? gross)
3. I am, as I type this, sneakily vaping in my cubicle at work. More productive? Absolutely.
4. I'm not a slave to the gas station, having to stop by every day before or after work, during lunch breaks, etc.
The bad-
1. It's trickier than ripping open a pack and going to town. It requires a certain routine with charging and refilling.
2. I'm eating more (and am already overweight so here comes another ten pounds...woohooooo)
The pros clearly outweigh the cons for me, not even counting the health benefits because those are yet to come. I am looking forward to not breathing so shallow and seeing my dark circles clear up a bit.
Just to wrap up this insanely long post...I'd suggest vaping and the manual switch 510 to anyone that's curious. The DSE-801...maybe. I'd also recommend Eastmall and Rocky Mountain Vapor because their service and products are good. Nuvape was quick to ship and has good prices, but I haven't enjoyed their liquids as much (though my boyfriend loves the Cigar and Pipe flavors).
