Yeah, but a can of coke is a can of coke, although you can get it cheaper in a 6 pack at walmart right? I can't get these particular flavor profiles at another juice site. I have tried many many peanut butter flavored juices and they all pale in comparison. It's not just your average "peanut butter" flavored juice - there are 5-6 different flavors in the Grandmaster Blend alone. It's like comparing generic cigs to say, American Spirit (for want of a better comparison.) Or for that matter, All Clad to T-Fal. They're not just a name, there's quality and complexity behind it. YMMV.

I think most of them are not judging the quality of the juice, but the price of it. I for one am not willing to pay $5 for a can of coke when the vending machine can give it to me for $0.75

They also have a storefront and B&M stores sell it around the country. He charges the same price as the B&Ms so as not to undercut his vendors. Ever bought premium juice in a B&M?

Don't knock what you don't know. The guys at Five Pawns have never come off snotty to me - have you actually talked to Rodney or Jay?
.
i think you are confusing me with the other guy? having a brick and mortar isn't an excuse for charging twice what other good juices cost. traditionally, the same products cost more in brick and mortars and less online because theres virtually no overhead online. but like i said earlier, if you like it and want to buy it that's your MO and i wont knock you for it. i don't care how good it is i would never pay that much knowing what it is. at the other end of the spectrum, MBV is super cheap but a waste of money to me because i find their stuff unusable.

and i never looked into this vendor or it's owners because of their extreme pricing, but his response to reddit calling them out for their pricing does kinda make them look like tools

Sorry Cuck, I was combining responses in one post. With regard to the reddit thing - I don't know - maybe their prices were higher before they got "called out". But really, there are tools on both ends. Look at the classy responses many people made there (and allover it seems, huh?) To hope that somebody's business fails miserably because they have higher prices? Really? I've seen a lot worse being done on the classies ;)

And FWIW, I use MBV as much as I do Five Pawns (I actually mix the two to create the perfect vape for me), so no one can call me influenced by the prestige factor alone. I'm just as much an MBV fangirl as I am a 5P fangirl.

Again I cannot judge this as I have not tried it. I do understand why ribeye steak costs more than chuck. I also understand why a Mercedes costs more than a Pinto.

It seems some say it is the best they have tried. Again I don't know but it baffles me how people can judge things they have not tried.

That's kind of the point. Five Pawns is totally up front about its focus being on retail. The company president is on the record as saying that its online prices are the same as brick-and-mortar prices because he doesn't want to undercut its retail partners. It's a different strategy compared to what most vendors use and some people are resenting it without understanding it.

One of the reasons for this atypical approach is that Five Pawns is better able to control its growth. Look at all the e-liquid vendors that suddenly got popular in 2012-2013; many of them were unable to fulfill orders quickly because they weren't prepared for the rapid and unpredictable spikes that come with online sales.

The good thing about a free market is that it is very efficient and democratic in maintaining equilibrium Ultimately for a product to be able to support it's price point it has to do so by providing value. If the market sees and recognizes that value then that product will be able to maintain it's price. All the talk from people who have not even tried the product is meaningless in my opinion. The market will ultimately decide in either the most unforgiving or the most rewarding of ways. I for one have tried their Grand Master and I found it to be at this time the best juice I have tried so far. Will i vape it exclusively all day every day? NO, but then again I like fillet mignon and lobster tails but I do not eat them for dinner every night. If I found a juice that I liked as much for less than I would buy it.
I don't think a person is a fool for trying something that is expensive or for continuing to buy something which is expensive. However I do think it foolish to complain about something which you admittedly had no intention of trying in the first place. My grandmother always made her own sauce and I can honestly say I never heard of her complaining about how expensive a bottle of Ronzoni spaghetti sauce was.

so it was started by a marketing flack? it's all starting to make sense now. :thumb:

i'm kidding, enjoy your juices. things are worth what people are willing to pay for them.

yeah, lol, I watched and interview with the owner and he firstly identified himself as someone who develops brand image.

I have tried all the flavors at a local B&M that redistributes this brand and although I did enjoy the taste of all of them, I didn't find it anything special, and in general very week to me. This said, I also have a hard time tasting most ejuice. The only brands so far that I've tried that have been both good and have enough flavor for my weak palate has been HHV (as is) and MBV (with lots of extra flavor shots).

Nice packaging, a hip store front, some nonsense about aging in wood barrels are not things that make any ejuice taste better. If I had a more sensitive sense of taste, maybe I'd feel different about this stuff.

Maybe I'm just a flavor freak as I also buy my coffees, whole bean, from independent roasters. Granted, I don't run this coffee through a twelve-cup brewer like I do my store-bought coffees (I usually just make one or two cups at a time) but I do like my coffee on the oily, full-flavored, and fresh side. I have several vendors I buy juice from so I will continue to have at least one tank filled with a Five Pawns juice. It really is just a matter of what your taste buds and wallet are capable of supporting.

I look at it this way. It can't be any worse then the guy who makes Pluid and sells it exclusively enough that people are trading it at $65 bucks or higher for a bottle! That is just insane and almost plain mean to those who love that juice.

I look at five pawns and see a ready to vape, steeped already juice, with nice packaging and the owner not short handing themselves. There are a lot of juices out there that charge 90. to $1 per mil that I have seen a lot of people rave on about and not because of the price, because it's worth it for them.

You can't fault someone for finding a juice that becomes one of their favorites and it keeps them vaping that just happens to also be on the higher end of juice pricing.

Question for those that vape Grandmaster..... I like how authentic the peanut butter taste is but almost find it too rich - one to two vape and I'm done. I'd like to find something to mix it with to mellow it out. Either a nice cream or possibly a strong honey. Any advice or best mix flavors?

Actually, I cut my Grandmaster with MBV Whipped Cream and Graham Cracker. It just makes the perfect combo to me. I'd say about 50-60% Grandmaster and 40-50 percent MBV (saves on cost too!)

EDIT: I do the same with Gambit. I also mix MBV Irish Cream and Whipped Cream to mellow out the Absolute Pin (not so big on absinthe taste.)

No skin in this game, but you could always order it a higher % nic and dilute it w/ PG and VG if it's too strong.

Juice is NOT expensive to make, even if it's a 10-15 step process for a batch. I crunched the numbers at one point, and in the quantity I buy my own DIY supplies for RETAIL prices, I pay like $.13/mL. Worth looking into if you're pinching pennies.
