Does anyone know how to fix a short on an X6 1300mah VV Battery? My buddy hooked up his Mechanical tank to my battery and now it's shorted out I think. When I connect my tank, it blinks 3 times and stays lit, but will not hit. When I try and charge it, it just blinks constantly. Now the battery is completely dead and it will not charge or hit.

The tank should not have damaged the battery. Those batteries have protection circuits in them which would not allow it to fire if his tank was shorted or if the resistance was too low. That being said, if the protection circuit failed for some reason, that would explain the problem, and the repair would not be worth the price of a new battery. You'd be better off buying another one.
You could try checking it with a volt meter, but that would require it having some sort of charge left in it.
Does that battery have the 5 click on/off? Try it, then clean the contacts and try the charger again... that's about the only suggestion that I can make for you...

Yeah, I tried all that already... I'm still waiting to hear back from the seller.(EBAY) If I can't get a replacement, I'm just going to toss it.

How long have you had it? Most vendors don't provide replacements for ego type batteries unless they're dead on arrival. Do you know the resistance of the topper your friend tried to use it with? Did it fire it at all? If the resistance of the coil was a standard resistance, it shouldn't have damaged the battery. Are you sure that the battery pin is making contact with your toppers? Sometimes, rebuildable toppers can have a longer connection. If it was screwed down too tightly, it could push the battery pin down too far to make a connection to toppers and the charger. You can try using a toothpick to gently work the battery pin up just a tiny bit. Make sure you do it evenly.

Yeah, I pulled the center pin up a little bit and it worked for a second. I realized that the connections reversed.. If I hold it on the charger backwards it seems to charge, at least it shows the same signs it did when I first charged it. I've had it about 3 weeks and the seller said they accept returns. I specifically searched for batteries with a return policy because it was the first one I purchased. From now on, I'm not going to use the internet unless the deal is way too good to pass up.

Perhaps someone more knowledgeable then myself can help on this, but I wonder if the battery pin was actually spun around? Don't knock all internet vendors just yet. There are definitely some better deals to be found online, and when paired with online reviews of vendors, it's easy to select the more trustworthy ones. The thing with ego batteries is that you can't take them apart for repair most of the time. They are meant to be disposable devices. When the battery dies, they're tossed or recycled. The lifespan on them is meant to be quite short. At most, for 300 charge cycles generally. For something that'll last longer, with more repairability, you'll want something with removable batteries. Many even have adjustable connections for those toppers that are on the longer side or shorter side then average, so you won't have to worry about the battery pins being thrown off by overtightening.

Well the internet seller so far has been surprisingly helpful, she pretty much offered the same solutions I got through this thread. She told me to try a few different things and if nothing worked she'd send me a new one without me needing to send the old one back. We will see if this actually happens, but I'm satisfied so far with the frequency of communication with her. Now I'm just using a loaner 650mah from a buddy, which gets me through until my 1300 is fully charged so far.
