@Duffloop, where did you order your clone from? Mine from Focal is out for delivery today. I wanted a 2nd for side by side build comparisons.

I know when I got the V3, the fitting was tight and even left a gap at the bottom. This was noted on the maker's website and just needs a break-in period. Months later, it seats perfectly and doesn't come off. I can pick it up with the 100W attached and shake and it wont budge. Whereas one of the V2 clones I had felt like there was no seal at all

My only con on the Flash is lack of post holes. Would be so useful. I think 22G is the lowest I can fit under the screw heads. 20 kept popping off when tightening.

I have another authentic v3 coming this week. I too recommend this as a first-time rta. I'm sporting it on an 18650 Trinity by Nar I just received yesterday. It is a super small 650 mod and takes away some of the usual length that the FeV adds. This is nicely balanced in the middle.

Here is a 25 gauge, 2mm ID, 5 wrap 0.4 ohm coil. I use mesh straw as the transport wick. It completely keeps up with wicking. No dry hits or flooding.

 Frak had to go to Lightening Vapes to find the Silica word, think I only made 4 builds with silica back in the day. :D

Would be leery of buying an Estia clone, when they make one, the tolerances of the tank, top & bottom cap are so tight, the Estia only uses O-rings to connect everything, no threads on either end. Seems most clones I've had are pretty shoddy when it comes to tolerance quality control.

Estia is truly a marvel of precision and design. A worthy addition to anyone's collection, but yeah, saw them begging for an Estia clone over on FT. :D

intrigued!

yup from Focal:
$26.17 Flash e-Vapor V3 Style Rebuildable Atomizer - Silver

Got some dental floss in there at mo - still a bit wobbly.

That's a great idea for the V4 - post holes! plus a bayonet base or something for the clone ;-)

Bleedin ell - 22G coils on this thing?

I'd like to see some pics

In fact general call out to all - can I see some coil/builds you peeps do on this thingy?

That's the way I do it - straws of mesh - works a bleedin treat.

I see some peeps putting silica in the mesh - and some with the Taifun GS farting about trying to thread cotton through the holes - complete waste of time cos this way wicks like a >insert rude wicking euphemism<

Parallel 32 it is.. Looks like ribbon sometimes . I much highly prefer it completely spaced out coils, not touching. Wick is rayon holds a ton..

If you look close you'll see 2 strands of 32g at the screws.

The 32 gets smoking hot, dry burn only about 2 seconds.

Here she is perched on my sigelie zmax V3 w/ stacked 350's set to 6v to reach 24w

Frak me in the rba deck. Yeah, have done the twisted everything, but yet to find a twist, //, whatever that will out satisfy a tension wrapped coil.

I do seriously need to take some picks, just got in new Jwraps and have the T6 wrapped as the TARDIS, with the Russian aboard, T8 has blue/black flame skulls, giving it's best to Estia, and Have flashi2 riding the power of Sigelei100, dressed up with an Apocalypse Earth 3 wrap.

^^^^^ A massive one on an Immo+ZNA.

D, I absolutely love twisted. PIA but when you can adjust tension to interlock the knurls optimize the mated surfaces for oxidation…it's not adhesion as I've defined it but close enough that twisteds become another creature altogether. Probably one of the most efficient winds I've come across. Most of what I've done in the background to my research on beginner clearo installs.

(Sorry for the OT post. Back to reg sched program…)

Good luck all and Happy Holidays.

:)

Was lucky to get one v3 for 70$ second hand. Now all I need is the clear tank and dripper deck and I'm set for life. (Though couple spare v3 decks would make dripping easier and I also might need a bigger tank ...)
Need to think what to get for a mod to go with this, 23 mm tubes are a bit hard to get so will aim to get a box, 50 watts ought to do it.
