Well my damn PC shorted and fried (Literally) early last evening. I can't do my P&P serial reservations from a freakin phone so I had to go to a neighbors house just to do the update of the P&P list.

So not only do I miss my button and tubd but now I gotta buy a new PC as well. I would be a bald face liar if I said I wasn't ...... off. Now I gotta get my .... back home so this lady can use her PC.

I'll be back on as soon as I can.

The way I look at it,the way the used prices are soaring,I decided to be content with my collection and will add only new stuff from now on,so having all that budget available...2 it is :)

Edit: and they will be my out and about PVs,so better get 2 if I ever break one or God forbid...lose one.

Or stolen like one of my SSGGTS's 2 weeks ago from my briefcase in a locked car.

Actually, the thief took the whole frickin' briefcase. I've been looking for someone in that part of town with half their face blown off (if they put the 6V batts in the wrong way)

One can always hope :D

Sorry to hear.

I hope the sorry SOB finds his maker at the front of a 60 mph Amtrak.

Have always felt that thieves need to be executed on sight along with other assorted scum of the earth in the fight to stop crime. Bullets have a notorius tendency to do that. :)

Now this is the best way to deal with criminals. Like to see a bounty put on them

I still haven't gotten the button off of my TS to replace it. Keep looking at it and am a bit intimidated - don't want to risk scratching by monkeying around w/ the button. Think will save it for my new tube that's coming - will look good on a shiny little stealth.

Sorry to hear huff. Have you tried using a spray of somesort to try and help loosen that grip?

Maybe a pair of gardener gloves (palm rubberized) could help without fear of damaging something (I use them all the time, are very useful for those tasks)

I haven't really tried too much yet. Will wait till the new tube comes and decide then. Will try to use some WD40 and the gloves, it'll probably work just wasn't as smooth to pull out as I expected. Just a bit cautious w/ these types of things - like to spend a good deal of time w/ them rather than mess something up.

Huff, you must get that button off, sooner or later you must take apart and clean it. I just had a button that would not come off on my new aluminum. Capt. suggested putting it in the freezer for awhile (bottom tube only) I did that and it still wouldn't come off, even with using rubber grippers.

Finally put a micro fibre on in and used pliers lightly till it gave. Just do that and be careful. I alway put a tad of vaseline on button threads too for just in case.
