With some of the more potent IPAs, citrus would be a great pairing, especially grapefruit (if even possible.) While I don't do lots of the strong-flavored IPAs, (I'm a PTC tester in the extreme) I absolutely love sours. A citrus could enhance some of the bubbles, but a tiny bit of sweetness could offset the super-sour of the combination. Most belgian whites I love would go well with fruits, especially peaches and berries, but without too much sweet.
Right now, I'm imagining Zombie Dust by Three Floyds. I need to try it again sometime soon. Sadly, I'm not near the east coast, I'm in the upper midwest. That and Cisco's Whale's Tale Pale Ale would definitely benefit from a smoother
vape to not overpower the beautiful crispness of the two. Something creamy without being overly sweet? Ideas?
In this house, we enjoy our alcoholic beverages. We've been collecting scotches lately and since they go well with cigars and spiced cigarettes, I'll definitely enjoy experimenting with those. Lagavulin 12 is my favorite, period. 16's incredible, but 12 is my standard (and it's a bit less expensive.) I could see it going well with a clove, a spiced vanilla, something creamy and spiced. Islay scotch plus vapes. Husband and I NEED to have a scotch night soon to test this theory. He's more of a cigar guy, and still smokes cigars (but doesn't inhale, thankfully,) but I'm sure he'll want to play with the flavors with me.
