Flavor question

Ok so every one knows, I'm a bit of a new. I am having issues all of a sudden with the flavor of my juices, I have bubble gum, a Green tea and a tobacco flavored one. 2 are from punk spot and one from a local b&m, 2 are in different tanks and one I have only used once, the bubble gum.

All of a sudden there is no "taste". Like none, they all taste like nothing, plenty of vapor but no taste. I have a generic tank with some cartos I bought locally, same place I bought tanks and juice. I am using my eVic and have tried just about every setting I can. I thought it was just a setting issue but nothing seems to help. When I swapped tanks I got a bit of flavor but them nothing. Please help me try and figure out what's going on.

If you just started vaping, like a week in, it looks like your taste buds are going on a fritz. They will come back to normal in about 3 days.

Well I've been on it for like 2 weeks, would that still be a cause? I mean I get plenty of vapor and smell, but it's like vaping water.

I am new as well. I have read quite a bit and I think what you are experiencing is normal. "Dead tongue syndrome" or something. Do a search just to be sure.

Exactly the symptom. It could also be because you have been vaping a higher nic level than you normally do.

Well I used 18 the first time but the throat hit was too harsh, so I went down to 6 and it's smooth. In only smoked 3-4 analogs a day. But the last few days I've found myself wanting analogs more because of the bland, lack of taste. It's frustrating!

Yep, the 18mg numbed your tongue. I did the exact same thing, 18mg and after that 6mg tastes like water.

Well I only used the 18 one time or should I say one 3ml tank full and not even the whole thing. I dumped it out and went and got 6 in the same flavors. Could that little have made such an impact? When I first used the 6 it was great for the first week.

5 puffs of 18mg killed my tongue for 3 days. I actually threw out 5 bottles of amazing tasting juices (and expensive too ) because i bought them at 18. And i never want to go through the dead tongue thing again.

Also try half exhaling through your nose and mouth. Sometimes what your tongue is missing your nose will pick up. I switch back and forth and I get different nuances of the same flavor as I do it.

Edit I tried drpping the other day and as I got a few hits of dry atomizer it killed my taste of food for over 12 hours. Everything tasted like burnt propane.

But could it be 2 bad cartos at the same time? I looked in the wadding and the top is dry, but from what I've read that's the way they are because of the draw towards the bottom and the holes being at the bottom of the tank.

Always keep your cartos wet, otherwise bad things will happen, including burning the "wadding", which will ruin it.

Typically, taste buds, after ceasing to smoke, will begin a sort of re-birthing process. During that time, you may experience what you're describing. I did too when I started, and it would phase in and out for a few weeks. Many long-timers agree that vaping a good peppermint or cinnamon liquid (not in clearos or plastic tanks though - they will probably crack from the acidic reaction), will "re-boot" your taste, or sometimes just be a good-tasting vape to last until the other flavors start coming through again. Sometimes a good, strong menthol will work too. Though different tactics will work for different people, this is the most common "solution".

Even now, after a year and a half, I still have a day here and there where mid-day I start losing taste. I switch to menthol or peppermint for awhile, and after a few hours, or after waking the next morning, it's back to normal.

What no one else has said is drink plenty of fluids. I've read that too little water can also be a problem with your tastebuds. (I prefer beer, though.)

99% of the time I have flavor issues it's the fault of whatever is screwed into my 510 connection. Check your cartos the can die quickly.

You can also vape yourself to the point of losing your sense of taste, drink water to help with it.

How can I check my cartos? All I can see is the top of the wadding and it looks white, not burnt. I even tried adding a little juice so the top would be wet, but no dice. I have some vivi nova v3 on order and hopefully I'll get them this week. If not I'm going to a RBA LOL
