Hello ECF o/ Here I go with the very first request/question here.

I own a bunch of gear already and once in a while I (hell, which one of us doesn't) just feel like getting something new. I recently got myself Freakshow and it was a total miss. Whatever I toss in there, no matter if it's a simple micro/macrocoil or some fused staggered claptons, the flavor is medicore at most and leaks like hell. I know how you need to position/wick them as this atty has it's requirements but I really need to struggle hard to get flavor I could get on my Petri with a simple pair of claptons with nearly no positioning at all.

So yeah, flavor is the priority here. Clouds are nice and I do like to blow them, but I've got a few attys that chuck 'em and I'm not sure I need another one. Hell, I even got back to my kayfun yesterday, and even though it was a struggle to MTL again, it turned out to be quite rewarding, though I'm not sure I could do it on a regular basis.

The market grows super fast and I simply lost track. I've been thinking about Origen v2 (dripper or genny), though I'm a bit worried about the restricted draw. Is it MTL exclusive? Is the airflow comparable to, say, Magma? I own a Tobeco clone which I believe is a bit more restricted than the authentic but wide-open (and mind you, it's not that wide really) I can do direct lung inhales fine.
Any other suggestions are most welcome. On the side note, I might want to get a decent clone first before throwing my money at an authentic, so clone suggestions are also welcome.

If this is in a wrong section - I'm sorry. I really am a bit new around.

Stumpy RDA, Origen V3, Hobo 3.1, the royal hunter and THE MARQUIS are all super flavor atties. I borrowed my friend Origen V3 clone cause I am probally buying the authentic and its the second best flavor attie I have used. The be all end all to flavor atties for me is the Marquis.

The origen v3 has a larger airflow option then the v1 and 2

As already mentioned the Marquis has crazy good flavor.

My go to atty is the Veritas.

Veritas is at the top as it has great flavor and is leak resistant some find it a pain to build.

Marquis is on par as flavor and is easier to build but leaks easier then the Veritas. It is still leak resistant but not as much. (also looks classy on a SS tube mech)

The origens are great for flavor. The v1 and 2 are great for mouth to lung pulls but can be a restrictive lunger. The V3 has the options for both and wide open is airier then the previous versions.

Another one that does not get mentioned much is the Ology, its decent but not as good as the Veritas and Marquis.

The Veritas and Marquis cloud production is good, but they hold no ground to the fog machine atties that are all about the clouds.

I've just found out my local vape shop has a decent Marquis clone available and I've got a solid discount there so I'll get it just out of pure curiosity. I like the airflow options aswell.
...are those coil jigs in the set?

Is there any noticable difference in flavor between Origens v3 and v2? I think I'm gonna go with one of them, just not sure which one.

No difference other then the look and the V3 has and option mor more airflow then the v2.

The Marquis clone should have 3 drip tip tops and the jig things for wrapping the coils.

I like mine in a weird config. single coil with 2 souces of air flow. The side two holes in the cap are both aimed at on coil.

I will recommend you the Mutation X4 bro. It had all the thing you looking for. 16 diff style of air intake. Set from cloud to taste or set it for both. Super easy to build than veritas ( i had one) and no hot legs issue like veritas had. I personally set it for taste, i close all the top airholes (9 holes) and only leaves two holes open for the bottom, change the wide drip tip to smaller tip for max taste. Best of all... you dun have to get the clone for this model as the real thing only cost 29.90! what a steal.....!

Thanks for the input o/ I've got authentic v3 for quite some time now and love to build on it. With staggered fused clapton it gives a very solid flavorwise vape, though it's still not there, the flavor, while being quite good, is a bit muted (pun unintended) and lacks that complexity. I'm also not a fan of that cyclone kind of airflow, found it a bit annoying to line up. I can't consider Mutation as a flavor atty sitting on top with things like Marquis, Veritas or Origen. Still though, thanks for the suggestion!

I will NOT recommend a mutation x v4. I own the v3 & v4, the v4 to me was a disappointment. It just feels cheap to me. For a flavor atty, check out the Hobo v3.1. I own both & the hobo can do it all. Flavor, clouds, single coil, dual, whatever you want it to do. I've never had a leak out of it, and the barrel locks onto the deck so you don't have to worry about moving your airflow back into place once you set it. The positive post is able to spin almost fully around the deck to accommodate any kind of build you put inside.

That's the current build I have in mine and I could not be happier with this powerful little atty. Best flavor I've had from an rda. I'd also recommend a Petri v1.5 but it has fixed airflow so no options on changing it if you don't like it. I do like its 2x 3mm air holes, but you may not, which is why the Hobo v3.1 is the way to go in terms of flavor.

I've got the Petri and while I like to build on it and the airflow is just on the spot, the flavor is not perfect. Don't get me wrong, it's good. I just keep thinking that it's not the maximum you can get out of an RDA. That's why I want to get something for flavor specifically. Yeah. I'm a bit picky with my hardware. :|

A little update here. Just unpacked/washed/built that Origen v3 clone. Wasn't easy to get a simple build done, but I can see myself getting used to it real quick. A simple vertical dual coil with 0.35mm Kanthal with 2.5mm dia. Turned out a bit lower than expected (0.4), filled it up with Sucker Punch. Flavor is amazing, such a simple build and vapes so very good. That 2mm airflow I was worried about is not an issue at all, in fact 2,5 might be an overkill on a higher build. That deep well is also great. Now I only need to come up with a bit higher build that would give me that dense vape but wouldn't overheat the atty so bad. Any ideas? Maybe something with 0.30 instead of 0.35. Would be good to get a nice vape on a mech too (had to crank this one down to 3.2v, haha!)

Did I mention how sexy this thing is?
EDIT: Nevermind, I adjusted the wicks a bit, cut them more at the top, thus improving the airflow a little bit. Now it a great, dense, flavorful vape with just the perfect temperature using a mech. This little thing definately raised the bar high for Marquis (which I'll probably have today too!)

How are you building it? I've found the best build so far is dual chimney coils and as great as it is it still isn't on par with my origen v3.

The Marquis flavor is JUST SHY of an Origens. I just slap dual verticals in it.

How do you build Your Origens? I put some dual verticals on the Marquis and like it a lot but the same setup on Origen is not doing it, seems to overheat.
