Please be more specific than- you are just a chemist. What products?

Also, what are we talking about here? The fact that the heavy flavor additives do not cause the wick system to gunk and go bad quikl, flavor changing in the tank, coils geting gunked from all those flavor additives?

Or are we talking about it being a health issue? Beacause all I said was flavors only add to the amount of different chemicals you inhail, which may not be diseriable. Your not going to get sick from vaping flavored e liquid, there are just potentially more "toxins" in the juice it self with flavor.

The point of this post, which I have made clear in many previous replies is to show how flavorless e liquid has added benifits, and flavored e liquid "is for noobs" It is a great title, alright! ;)

People that vape dark liquids report that their coils get nasty and go bad quiker, theres a "test" right there. These are reg folks that work at a vape store who dont really care about science, and they report this as well.....
Let me explain. I'm a chemistry teacher at a community college. I mix my own juice. I've even vaped straight flavors. I've only ever had my coils burn out when I don't rake care of them. I've found in a study me and a student did that clear non flavored eliquid. And dark grape flavored eliquid have both had the same wear on a coil. We built .3 ohm coils and ran them the same. Cleaned them at the same time. And they both lasted a week.

All juices react the same? The coils last the same time no matter the flavor? You are a science freak, but what do you do for a living?

My science lacks no proof at all. See, science makes everyone agree on a particular subject, its the study of nature. Any chemist would agree with me without doing any tests just understanding basic chemistry.
If you rebuilt you would know this.

just read a majority of this thread.... all this banter over weather a straight non flavored juice over a flavored juice ruins a coil?? Coils are pretty stout when made with the better gauges.... some have been known to last months, altho the wicks could use changing on a weekly basis. And as far as flavoring being detrimental to our health... no positive conclusion has been made yet... that will take years to determine that... ( other than allergic reactions)

vaping still beats out smoking as far as a health issue.... we know smoking can kill ya... :)

As I read this thread I find that a large proportion of posts are people complaining about the subject of the thread. Some actually asking for thread closure . IMO, if you don't have anything to contribute, move on to another conversation that is of interest to you. Many threads are poluted with those posts here on ecf .

I find it so impolite for people to barge in into a conversation and using ridicule/insults try to shut other people up because they don't like the subject, or don't agree with opinions expressed or whatever....

All too often it is members with high post count who are doing it. They have been around for a while and have read so many discussions. Most vaping subjects have been discussed and debated many times. Some feel compelled to remind newer members that THEY know-it-all and they are justify to censor whole threads as irrelevant and a waste of time and its participants as uninformed noobs.

I wish there was a 'dislike' button beside le 'like' button. There would be less school yard intimidation going on and more adult like conversations on forums.

I agree; that's exactly what happened with the thread I started about dehydration. Silly me, I figured, I learned something about this that had no documentation online whatever, so I'll contribute to the general knowledge -- only to be told repeatedly and with growing hostility that I was wrong, that apparently what had happened right before my eyes had never happened, and then a lot of completely off-topic stuff that grew ever more rude and insulting. So I abandoned the thread. I'll never again start a thread trying to contribute knowledge, that's for sure -- I'll start one to ASK a question only!

You are a e cig veteran. Good job.

I help Turtles cross the road all the time, but on my way I kill many microorganisms with every step, so its a little counter productive.
Happy vaping. What flavors are you vaping today on your high end devices, E Cig Vet?

It's all in the master plan. Humans keep those microorganisms in balance. Otherwise, they'd take over and wipe us out. I saw it in a movie once.

Um why is this thread still open:blink:

Well SOMEONE was vaping with FLAVORED juice and that made their coils explode, and of course that blew the door off the thread. I tried to put the door back on so it could be closed, but someone stole one of the hinges so they could make a flip top dripper...

Yup. Thats why I said people vape for two reasons- flavor and nic buzz. I just want to let people know that if you don't do it for flavor, try some flavorless as it prolongs your coils.
You are touting some heavy claims, yet in the same breath, you are complaining of coil longevity. Um, coils last indefinitely when you are proficient, and not some snake oil pushing n00b.

Here's a tip...try dry burning. And besides...no flavor? Please, we all know variety is the spice of life.

I read your dehydration thread. I found it very interesting and with valuable information. I also saw where it started to derail....

btw, I have a reverse osmosis water maker on my sailboat. After my auto-pilot it is the most valuable of my auxiliary equiments while cruising.

... oups, I am now derailing this thread,

Stop now :) You are being disingenuous. You live for these threads ! Come on, admit it ! You get a kick out of getting under the skin of the majority. Topic is irrelevant really. It's being a contrarian that makes your days go smoother. Nothing wrong with that btw, i like some of your posts, but don't pretend that you are appalled by the direction these threads take. How many closed threads have you been a major part of ? Honest answer, please.

Being new to vaping I used flavored ejuice like tobacco and other flavors. Just tried a flavored premium juice - it sux really bad and causes the atomizer coil and wicks to go bad and I cant get the smell out of my tank even after soaking in alcohol and rinsing for a long time. Any "harmful" chemicals that are in e juice is all in the flavoring. Nicotine is not inheritably bad, neither is pg or vg, its the nasty flavorings they use. The flavoring destroys the wicks and your lungs. So, if you want flavor eat some fruit or chew some gum, because your vaping crap.....Its flavorless e liquid for now on.....

Sounds like another Virgin Vapor customer.:sneaky:

Yes I was a victim of at least one close thread. That one was due to answering intimidating posts by trooling posters. I was also censored a couple of times, probably rightly so.

I am not being disingenuous, Imo there are too much intimidation and useless comments where the only intent is to prevent discussion on a subject. This behavior is childish at best and does not happen in real life except with REALLY disturbed individuals that you can dismiss very fast.

Heh. Well I wasn't posting anything "theoretical," only what I had personally experienced and witnessed, but apparently my first-hand knowledge wasn't sufficient for those who attacked not just my first-hand experiences but me, personally. So now I just tell anyone experiencing problems with dehydration "coconut water," but I don't stick around to argue about it; if they care to try it, they'll see for themselves, and all the rest of it, I'll let them figure out in the same way that I did -- hard experience. It seems to be the only way that some people learn anything -- it's hard to argue with your own first-hand experience.
