I'm one that will vape almost anything. I've had a few flavors where I tried them and didn't care for them (at all) and then set them aside indefinitely or gave them away. But, some of those flavors that when I first tried them and didn't care for it, I've continued to use them anyway. And I've noticed, many times, that I acquire a taste for it, and may even a few days later find myself liking that flavor. Thus, the flavor has grown on me.

I'm curious if anyone else experiences this?

I can also recall from my first month of vaping (back when prefills were still very popular) that there were 3 flavors (out of 10) that I really liked, 4 to 5 that were just okay and 2 that I found disgusting. A year later, the two I found disgusting were in the 'just okay' (but vapeable) category, and some in the 'really like' category had gone down a notch or two.

I guess the moral of the story is be willing to give flavors a second chance, as you may even surprise yourself with what you say you like compared to what you truly like and appreciate having around to vape.

The reason I had started this thread was because I had opened a bottle of "cinnamon roll" and expected it to be very cinnamon-y. I was counting on that. Instead, not very cinnamon-y at all and very much like a roll taste. Oh joy. Didn't care much for it on the first 10 puffs. Thought of giving it away. Now, of the 8 or so bottles that I have open right now, it is a top 3 vape for me. Yeah, that flavor grew on me.

You would think if you can acquire a taste for smokes, just about any vaping flavor could be acquired, no?

I am only a few months into vaping and have given a away a couple bottles already--which can be expensive. The next bottles I got that I didn't really care for, I decided to do some experimental mixing and found that I can sometimes mix and get a palatable flavor.
I bought some sweetners and menthols to add to some fruity or chocolate mixes.

@Jman8 FYI - Cinnamon Burst from ejuicemonkeys.com is a GOOD one that tastes just like red hots. I like just as it is.

Even besides the steeping issue, you sometimes have to develop your palate to really appreciate something. In tea it's pretty well known that the stuff that appeals most to experienced drinkers can seem really plain, or even unappealing to the average drinker. It's also common in tea to totally change your opinion of a tea once you "get it" and can get your head around everything that you're smelling, tasting, etc.; until then it can just be a bunch of flavors and smells and sensations that you have a hard time making sense of and is just "weird."

Everyone that I've talked to took some time to get used to Five Pawns; some didn't even like it at first (like LMS62 said). It helped me to read the description and identify each of the components while I vaped. If the flavor is a type (dessert, fruit, etc.) that you're not used to, then it can also help to find something of the same type that you like; that can make you more open to others of that type. What you like is going to have a great deal to do with your existing associations; maybe your grandma made an amazing pumpkin pie, and maybe eggnog reminds you of that for some small reason, and maybe a vape makes you think of that, and now this vape makes you think of that vape. Subjective experience of this stuff can be pretty crazy :) Sometimes even the people you're around can influence your perception of taste and smell -- even without saying a word.

I'm really hoping that someone can step in and really innovate with some really complex liquids at some point. Five Pawns is a good start, but we probably also need innovation with devices as well.
